I am looking for a tractor and wondered what input anyone might have about Jinma? I'm looking for a 30 to 40hp tractor with a loader and backhoe. I'll probably use it 100 to 200 hours a year, so not a lot of use. I may use it for hay one day but for now it's just for handling some round bales, garden plowing, and other misc items around the house.

I've looked at kabota and deere, and while I like the products I'm looking at about $20,000 minimum for that type of tractor. Seems like a comparable Jinma would be about half the price. I know this is not the same quality as a Deere, but then again for the price it seemed worth considering.

Any comments about this brand or any other brand suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks all!

Deberosa makes some good points. I work on farm/heavy equipment and I have looked at a few of these brands out of curiosity. Some of the welds and fitment are awful, and I certainly would be leery of putting much strain on anything.
I would be inclined to check with a local parts house or two-if you can't get pieces for it you are stuck with the dealer, which may be a problem if he decides to vanish or simply quits handling the product.
Have you considered older mainstream brands at tractor dealers/equipment dealers? Often you can find a package as you are describing for considerably less money than new and shiny.

China tractors are better than they were 5 years ago, but they STILL have waaaay too many problems... All you hear about is how the dealer will fix anything that breaks... My answer to that is, WHY is it breaking in the first place?? AND, will that dealer keep comeing out for FREE forever??

Folks hate when i say this, but IMHO they are junk...

BTW, china tractors have NO resale value once it's your's... Most won't ever buy a second one and forget trying to trade it for another brand..

The better made compact tractors sold with a lower price are, Mahindra, Kioti and TYM... "If" you buy one of those and use it for what it's designed for it should last quite well for you...

Keep in mind, they are "compacts" NOT a full size farm tractor!

I'm not as big of a fan of Branson because they "buy" pretty much all of there parts and that means things keep changeing all the time. It also "usually" means a parts "nightmare" 10 years on down the road!

Hi. I hope you don't mind me jumping in. Where is the Mahindra made? I have about 48 acres near Minot ND so I'm in the market for a +-30 Hp Tractor.

India, by the company that built jeeps during WWII.
Being sold at JD dealers around here.
Bought one in 2005, 3015 / 30 hp 4x4 hydrostatic drive.
Love it.

Where is the Mahindra made?

"Most" ARE made in india... But, not "all" of their models are... Some of the Mahindra's are rebadged TYM's that are made in Korea..

Mahindra's are a decent tractor that for the most part, are priced lower than other popular brands.

They are a mile "better" than any of the china tractors and shouldn't be compared to them!!!
