'Tis the month for ghost stories! My wife and I go to a lot of "ghosthunting" events, we have for a few years and long before the whole craze hit with the tv shows. It was basically just something different to do on a Friday night for 10 bucks. Neither of us has really seen anything on any of the walks, but we have managed to get a couple of really odd pictures. We want to go to the Mansfield Reformitory, but thanks to that tv show doing an episode there, it's booked almost 6 months ahead.
I never really had any experiences myself until a year ago when I was working on a condo near Lake Erie. The place had burnt once in '99 (1 fatality) and again in '06 (2 fatalities) The whole attic had burned off 2 of the 3 wings of the building and was completely replaced. After 2 devistating fires, the city forced them to install a sprinkler system and we got the job.
I was in the attic and sware I saw a dark shadow lean out of the rafters and back in, twice, within a few minutes, like someone peeking out at you. There was no one else up there at the time, and it was really bright thanks to flourescent lights every 10 feet down the catwalk. I kept it to myself for a few weeks till other trades on the job started saying they all had seen similar things in the same area. People saw shadows, heard voices, and one guy saw a woman walk past his ladder and into the same suite...there were no women on that jobsite. No one knew where the residents lived that had passed in the fire till the others started moving back in at the end of the job, and we all learned it was the same area we had all seen things....wierd eh??

This old house we live in we see stuff all the time.
Last couple years I have seen a black cat and a little boy. The mrs. saw a cat several times in an hour a couple weeks ago.
The kids saw a red dog that we couldn't see a couple years ago. I saw a dog run across the kitchen when my grandparents still lived here.
My dad grew up here and refuses to live here.
Interesting place to live.

I love this post idea...
years ago, My long time friend and I went to Gettysburg alone. We were 18. My Friend had enlisted in the Army, so before he went off, we decided to see the Battlefield with out any tag-alongs. *My Old pal is built like a tank and scared of nothing...now he's a Prison Gaurd at a Supper-Max in NYC..(keep that in mind)
So we walked the whole battlefield. It was a very warm Oct day. We walked all of Confed' Ave, and then up and round the roundtops, down the wheatfield, to the masive pa monument. many Many miles up and down hills.
*By this time it was past dark. We stopped at the Pa monument to look up family names then turned to walk on. *As we stepped off the curb, not even thinking of spooks, the air got COLD..Like, leaving a warm house to go into a snow storm COLD. *I remember how that cold air filled my lungs the moment I put my foot on the street.
I looked at him, and his eyes were wide as tea cups. With out a word to each other, we ran as fast as we could run for a street light. All I could think was, get me to that street light. When we made it to main street (business 15) We stopped to catch out breath. I aske him, "Did you......" "He blurted out ..."yea..."
That's all I need to beleave in scary stuff. This guy and I have been in some tight spots together over the years. *Brawls and fights, I've seen him keep his cool every time.. To this day, we both sware it was real.

I never thought about this subject until I worked in the Alpha Beta Supermarket in Concord Ca. I was a meat cutter in this store for 8yrs. Strange things seem to happen for about a 2yr period.
I would hear the plastic curtains that covered the doorways slap and someone would say Walt. When I turn around no one would be there.
We would hear the steel ash tray slide across the floor when no one was in the break room.
I went to work at 4am one morning and found the back door wide open. The door had a 5ft piece of L shape steel that fit through steel plates on the door and locked with a padlock. The door was open with the steel bar still locked in place but pointing up and down. I'm 6'7"" and weigh 260lbs and I could not force that bar out of the brackets. I still don't know how it was done. Later that day I could hear someone walking in the attic. The store manager and went through the attic from one end of the store to the other and saw and heard nothing. As soon as we were back down stairs the foot steps started again.
We had a bad habit of leaving the cooler door open about s foot. This was a heavy door about 10in thick with insulation. I was telling a new employee about some of the strange things that happen when the cooler door slammed shut. We were the only two people working there.
One day I was wrapping meat and would go to the block and help cut when I was caught up. The wrapping station was attached to a shrink tunnel that was about 5ft long that was attached to a roller conveyor system. When I went back to wrap the wrapping station was pulled away from the shrink tunnel and one end of the shrink tunnel was setting on the floor. We never heard a thing even though we were cutting meat no more that 20ft away.
The night crew would complain that they would face up the items on an isle and go to the next isle and hear bottles falling off the shelves of an empty isle.
There are other things that I've forgotten but it was a strange place to work. In the 8yrs I worked there we had 2 people die on the job. One was a GM Supervisor that got a phone call. He went to the back room to answer it but never answered it. He was found dead on the backroom floor. Another man was working the freezer and was found dead in the freezer.
I had never believed in ghost but this store makes me wonder. The Alpha Beta store is long gone and the last time I was by the store it was T.J.Max. I never stopped by to ask but I wonder if the strange things still happen or if it was just all explainable. I don't know.

This isn't so much a 'ghost story' as it is a recurring dream that I had when I was very young. I went to kindergarten with a girl named Cindy Moody. I considered her my 'girlfriend', and once, on a fieldtrip to the Coca-Cola plant in Memphis, I told her we will get married some day.
Her family moved after that year in kindergarten and I went to first grade alone. I started having a dream, over and over, very vivid and in black and white like an old movie. I haven't had this dream in years but, I can recount it as if I just awoke from it. I recall having this dream until the 4th grade.
In the dream, I'm at Cindys house for her birthday party and a bunch of our friends and us are eating a frozen chocolate cake and ice cream. I don't know why the cake was frozen.
Someone had given her a HotWheels car as a present and, being a girl, wasn't too hip on it. She gave it to me and sat it beside my plate of frozen cake. It was a silver Ford Mustang.
The electricity went out and the other kids started crying. Cindy and I walked to the front door and looked out. The sky was black and it looked like a bad storm was blowing in. I told her to stay inside as I stepped out onto the porch. There was a large Magnolia tree in her front yard that was not moving even in the high winds. I walked off of the porch and under the tree to look up into it. At that point, a skeleton on a noose falls from the tree, laughing at me.
That's when I always woke up.
If that was a severe case of 'puppy love', I guess I can understand. I've not seen or heard from Cindy since. I do, however, get a calm feeling when I think of her, all those years ago. The dream was just too much.

I haven't encountered anything like what you all have been discribing. We moved into our new home in January and I am here alone all the time because DH is an over the road driver. I've never encountered so many noises as this house makes, I can't seem to find the source when I do hear a noise.
Our daughter has had a lot of encounters, though. She's a flight attendent and on one of her trips she was in the galley by herself and something kept flipping her hair, each time she would turn around and no one was there. She said it was probably grandpa and his sense of humor. ;D ;D ;D There are other's that I can't think of right now.

There was a house we rented once, I always had the feeling there was a ghost there. I never really experienced anything other than that feeling. Except that often times our dog would start barking in another room and we'd come in to see what was the matter only to find him barking at the center of an empty room.

I have two.
My grandmother came to live with us when I was 4, and stayed with us til I was 6. She went to live with another aunt until she died when I was 8. When she lived with us, she was always my protector - my brothers were my Mom's favorite and could do no wrong, not even when we were playing Coyboys and Indians and they hung me by my neck! If my father hadn't come home for lunch I would have died there... Gramma was the one who beat them and hollered at them for leaving me there. We slept in the same room and I always could talk to her - she was deaf so I learned to sign at an early age, and we would talk for hours in silence.
Well, when I married my first husband, he was abusive. I had a baby son and had to take care of him of course. When I would get up at night and go in his room, Gramma was there, watching me as I fed and rocked him. I felt very happy knowing she was in the house. I would be cooking and turn around and the spices I meant to put away were already put away. Things would disappear and reappear when I needed them. My then-hubby did not believe me when I said that Gramma was there. One night I was very sick and could not take care of our son. My ex was angry and went into the room to 'shut him up'... and came running out of that room white as a sheet. He had seen 'a very little old lady"- Gramma - standing over the crib, and when he had gone toward the crib she threatened him with her fist! The next week some friends of ours found a full grown female collie in the mountans, and lured her into their truck and brought her home. She would not let anyone touch her to pet her - but when I went up to her, she laid down at my feet and rolled over to have her bely rub! They gave me the dog, and she would lay between me and my ex until the day I left him. If he moved toward me, she would growl. I always felt like Gramma had sent her to me to protect me, even though I still saw her around every place I lived. When I married my second husband, I never saw Gramma again.
MY father and I were very close, for the last 12 years of his life I had to take care of him. He had had many strokes and was a hemiplegic, paralyzed on his right side. He and I talked a lot, and he always wanted me to promise that I would take care of Mother when he passed. I never would say so, because mother and I loathed each other (she refused to care for him and would always call me, I lost two jobs because of her refusal to care for him). The night he died I was at his bedside in the hospital. He would not GO. He needed to, and was worn out, was not even conscious, but had a heartbeat very slow and minimal brain activity, but still would not. Finally I put my hands on either side of his head and said, "Go ahead, Daddy. I'll take care of her." He took a deep sighing breath - and all of the alarms went off. He had gone.
Many times since I would ask him what to do and I could always hear his voice inside my head but never saw him. Finally, things were really bad, and I was really hurting and confused. I was out of town at a big dinner party, but was feeling really hurt and worried and sick, could barely eat. Suddenly, to my right, right between me and my best friend, was my Dad! He was very angry and asked me what the hell I thought I was doing! I looked at my friend and at the other people at the table - and they were still talking and eating and laughing! MY father told me to go to my room and he would talk to me. I excused myself, he disappeared, and I went up to my motel room. For two hours he sat on the balcony with me talking to me, telling me where I had gone wrong and what I needed to do to fix it. I left that motel that night and went home. I did exactly what he told me to do, and everything got better just like he said it would. That was two years ago, and I haven't seen him since, nor heard him, either.
I know that all sounds really crazy but every word is true. And my Gramma and my father were both very strong personalities, and very opinionated, and they always said that if they were needed, if anyone would or could come back, they would. They did.

Wiley C. Just my HO. What you have are two guardian Angels. Huge difference. I have heard of, and seen several similar situations. Their only purpose in being there is to watch over you, and as you said, when second hubby came on the scene, and you became safe and happy, they happily faded away into the background. The separating element is that they harbor no jealous feelings, and as long as you are safe, loved and respected, remain unseen. You are truly fortunate, and deserving. The only ghost that I have dealt with was a brother of a single mom with 5 children. I knew him in his life also. He was not a bad man in any sense of the word, but 20 years after his passing, returned to the same house, walked the hallways, closed and opened doors, and the most difficult to believe, spoke to them superimposed onto a modern CD that the daughter had. Did not seem to have any desire to cause harm, nor to bestow good, but simply to be present, but it terrified them nevertheless. He was a professional troubleshooter for a famous company with factories in several countries, of which he visited on several occasions.
One of which was haiti. There was a wooden ceremonial mask on the wall in their living room that gave me a chill every time I walked by it. He brought it back from that country. The family called me screaming and scared to death in the middle of the night. I called a pastor I knew, whose wife had similar previous experiences, they came, we built a small fire outside, burned the mask, as well as other things left in the house that were suspected to have come from there, and any of his possessions. I will not go into detail of the rest of this story, but from that night forward, his presence was never seen nor heard for many years. They finally sold the house, and moved away. Never again hearing anything similar. IMHO, this is a ghost. Totally different from your experience. Very highly contriversal subject, and there are strong feelings on both sides, but my belief is that just as the Good Book says, we are in a spiritual realm here, some for good, some not. I personally have done some really dumb things in my younger days, several of which I should not have survived, yet came through unscathed, due to no doing of my own.

My story isn't really a haunting, unless I was the one doing it! All of my life I have had a few very vivid dreams, of places that I have not been. When I wake up I recall clear details, and usually later I go there and know what is around the corner.
In the 80's, when I was married and we had just moved to Arkansas, this happened. My husband hated it. We were living in an old cabin while we built our home, and the walk to our land was past this gated dirt road. I always wanted to go down it and see what was there, but didn't want to trespass. I had a dream that I walked down that road, and as the road curved around, the woods opened up into a large cleared area. There was an old white house with a porch and a very big tree beside it. There was a very old car (like 30's) in the yard - but in good shape. A woman walked up from the left side yard and she had a bushel basket with wet laundry in it. There was a black and white dog barking at me, but in the dream, there was no sound. Just color and details. I felt like she was afraid of me.
Later on, we met the guy that owned the land and I asked permission to go have a look, which he gave. Oddly enough, he told me there was nothing back there to see. I got a new camera for Christmas, and my ex got binoculars, so we went for a walk down that lane.
As I approached the bend in the road, my hair stood on end.
Past the red cedar tree - - and it was my dream. Only now the yard was all grown up to brush and the house was a wreck. The blue shutters I remembered were there, but the porch was different. The clothesline was on the left. The shingles were red - and in my dream they were dark.
Later, I was showing a neighbor the pictures I'd taken and she said, "Oh, my family owned that house. I grew up there! But look at those ugly red shingles someone put on."
I asked "Is the porch the same?"
She said, "No - it used to be wood and wrapped around. Someone has added a cement stoop and took down some of the porch. But the shutters are still that same blue!""
I didn't have the courage to ask her if she'd had a small black and white dog, or if they ever had problems with seeing people who weren't there. . .

oh, maybe the lady with the laundry was a relative of your neighbor. *
I had a similar dream, it was in black and white. To start out with, I rode in a wagon with my great grandparents down the hill where I grew up. It looked like it must have during the time my great grand parents lived there. The area where our house now stands was all wooded, mostly birches, the road was rough and gravelly. *I saw one old house with a big nut tree that I still remember, and it was there all by itself, now there are houses all around. we went up to the top of the mountain and there was a wooden look out tower and I saw the steps clear as can be. I knew *I was dreaming and was exited to tell my Dad about it when I woke up. well, he said there was no lookout tower on the mountain as far as he knew. *A few month later I looked at the new historical magazine he got and there was a picture of the tower and an article about it.
I have a bunch of experiences. Long time ago I stayed at my mother in laws for a couple of weeks. One night I woke up around two AM. *there were horses going up the road, you know the sound that a few horses make. *Now there is only one more house after hers and then there is nothing for maybe twenty miles or more but woods. *Also there were no horses that I *knew of. *She lives up a creek in a narrow valley in Eastern kY, *at that time there were 11 houses on the creek. * I woke up, wondered who in darnation would be riding horses up the creek this time of night. To make a story short, *there was an incident during the Civil war on the creek involving a few soldiers on horseback, and on occasion people heard horses going up the road.

When I was a kid all the boys were at a friends house playing when his parents left for a night out. We weren't allowed to go in the house but we did when they weren't there. Well, we went in to was TV. First time any of us except Brian had been in there that late. At 8 PM the TV cut off, then the kitchen light turned on and the living room light turned off. We all freaked out except for Brian. He just got up and swapped the lights back and turned the TV back on as if nothing had happened. I asked Brian what the he** just happened. It said oh, that happens every night. He said his father had told him it was Mandy Castles ghost.
I happened to think and before Brian and his parents moved in there was a mean old lady that lived there and we would wait for her to go to bed and get some apples off her tree. She wouldn't let us in the yard. But when the apples were ready to pick, we all knew she would be going to bed about 8 o'clock.
Well I got up to use the bathroom a few minutes later and as I got to the door the light came on and the door shut. I looked back into the living room and everyone was still there. I went back and knocked on the door and there wasn't a sound so I opened it and as soon as I walked in the door it was like a walk in freezer. I just stepped back out and then the light went off and then it felt like a cold january wind blew past me.
I got out of there and never went back in that house.
My wife goes to church every Sunday and most every Wenesday and she won't tell a lie for anything. Which I am happy of, but she says she was in bed one night and she can't remember why but she was really sad about something and couldn't sleep. Her grand mother had passed away a couple of years before but she used to come up to her room and read stories to her to get her asleep. Stephanie still had the same rocking chair in her room that her grand mother always set in. She said all of a sudden the rocker slid up to the bed and started rocking, and she could hear her grandmother telling her a bed time story.
She said she couldn't see anything but the chair rocking and heard her telling a storey.
Steph said she went on to sleep and that happened several more times.
One time her father came in the room and ask Steph who was talking to her and didn't believe her.
He told me that he didn't at first but he had stood out side the door a couple times after that and her her grandmothers voice as clear as a bell and when he would look in the room the voice would stop, Steph would be asleep and the chair was back beside the bed again and still moving.
And one more, our front door will open some times at a little after 3 am on Saturady nights and something after 10 pm an Friday nights. Maybe once each nighevery 3 or 4 months it happens. Always those two nights and at the same time.
I had a friend helping me when I remodeled the house before we moved in. The only time this happened nights back to back, we had both set down in the living room in front of the fireplace warming up, and taking a break and drinking a beer when we heard something rattleing at the door. Well this wasn't the saftest neighborhood because we use to have a bunch of (I won't say what color) guys stand on the corner selling drugs.
I had my 9 mm simi auto's on the mantle of the dining room fireplace so I jumped up and grabbed it and pointed it straight at the front door.
Our front door is half glass. Allen stood up and grabbed a 2x4 or something and we were both ready to go at it.
The door knob turned, the door opened, and there was no one there. Then the door closed. And again I felt a cold breeze blow past me.
Allen and me both at the same time said we got ghost, and laughed like crazy.
Allen worked during the week so he just helped mostly on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays.
Well we were still getting at it early Sunday morning. We heard the same thing and both of us was in the dining room. We looked and the door knob turned after we heard the rattleing, which we have come to realize is keys, the door opened and closed, and that night Allen was right there beside me and he felt the cold air.
We both looked at each other again, and said, yea, we got a ghost.
I just wish he would lock the door back when he closes it.
I still wake up some times when I hear the door close and get up and sure enough it is unlocked.
Now for one good one that I think was an angel. I feel off a 12" concrete wall panel, 48 feet in 1978. I think I was about 8 to 10 feet from the ground when I looked over my shoulder and was headed down pretty much head first on my back. All of a sudden it felt like I just slowed down some and leveled out as flat as a pan cake. I hit the ground pretty hard anyway. Slap knocked the breath out of me. I rolled over and got my breath back somewhat and looked up at the top of that wall, and I always will believe this is where I screwed my life up. I looked up there and thought to myself, man, you are really one bad ass SOB. Until that moment I was hurting at all. Just the breath knocked out of me. And then I said out load, man you are one bad ass and then started to get up.
Nope, you ain't getting up from here. Broke my back, my neck, both bones in my right wrist, 3 ribs, pucntured a lung, and broke my right ankle.
I will always believe I could have went back to work that day, if I had just said, God Thank You. I was in the hospital after several operation before that came to me but I will always believe it.
And then I had double pnemonia and nearly died from that in 1991 I think it was.
I was so sick I was praying to God to just let me die. I didn't see him. I didn't really hear him. I just felt him tell me, "Son, it isn't your time yet"
That was all it was to it. My familly says they saw a piece come over my face and they just knew I was gone. But I opened my eyes after being out for 6 days and held my hand out and told them to stop worrying, I was going to be alright. Just a few hours later I was setting up reading a news paper.
There are a few other things such as the way I grew up driving. I am either one of the best drivers in the world or I have an angel riding with me. I had a 63 Plymouth with a built 440 in it. I forget what year the engine was but I was on 58 West running through a straight flat straight when a state trooper topped the hill. I hit the brakes and the right front locked up. My older BIL law was riding with me. He slapped his seat belt own and somehow put mine on me. He said he didn't remember putting eithe one on but I saw him do it. We gaught the end of a guard rail just behind Ronnies door.
The state trooper got us at 143 MPH on radar. It tore the whole back of the car off and left it stuck to the guard rail on fire and the front of the car went better than a half mile straight down the road and stopped. Right in the middle of the road.
Ronnies door was still closed and my dorr was gone. But we sat there in the front of the car and both of us had small cuts and that was all.
All I can say is if I get into a car, God sends an angel with me.

2006 - I was working as Recreation Program Director at a Children's Home in Missouri. The previoius recreation director was a great guy - but he failed to utilize all of the resources that were available on the campus for the kids.
Having stated that, there was this really nice barn on the property. It actually had a full kitchen, offices and several other finished rooms with electricity and ac/heat. It was an AMAZING building! The only downfall is that it was stuffed with YEARS and YEARS of junk and garbage from the children's home. (The childrens home was built in the early 1900's)
I got a crew of boys together and we cleaned that place from top to bottom. We filled a trailer with junk at least 3 or 4 times. The building was starting to shape up! I purchased a nice big screen TV, dvd player, surround sound and I begged, borrowed and stole 5 or 6 comfortable couches and chairs for our entertainment room! (We all worked together and we had something that the whole campus was proud of!)
It happens suddenly.......
I am in my office one night after we did a campus movie night and I hear two young boys talking and playing...sounded like they might have been 5 or 6 years old! I got up to go investigate to see if someone was there and NOBODY was there! The place was empty. it kinda startled me....but I brushed it off - "eh, no biggie!"
FYI: The average age of our children at the time was 13-18 yrs.
A few weeks go by and nothing really out of the ordinary happened in the old barn....
HERE'S THE BREAD AND BUTTER OF THE STORY:
I was called to go to another area on campus to help with a young girl who was having some severe behavioral issues.
I enter the building where she is located and the staff confront me and say
" she has been like this for 30 minutes and we haven't been able to do anything with her!"
....so I enter the kitchen area where she was and she was sitting perched in a corner (like a bird) with a grey hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up, staring through the hair that was nearly covering her face....
The instant that I entered the room I got an uneasy feeling in my stomach. It seemed as if the whole atmosphere had changed - *I was scared and didn't know what to do.
After about 5 minutes, I got my wits about me and I said in my head
"God, I know I haven't prayed in some time, but if you are listening, I could really use your help!" Well, about 30 seconds went by and somehow I got the words to get this child de-escalated and into her room. (YEAH, I know right!:))
So I help get everything under control and go back to my office in the old barn relieved.....WHEW!!!
I instantly crash into my chair and prop my feet up on the desk.....I grab the phone and call the boss to tell him that everything is alright....After I was on the phone for a couple of minutes, I turned and looked and there was this HUGE TRANSPARENT GRAY MASS IN MY OFFICE DOORWAY.
It was swirling in all different directions, almost like a smoky tornado. In a 10-second timespan, I watched it move backwards out of the doorway and to the left out of sight.....I was on the phone still and I said "Oh my god, You are not going to believe this! I just saw a ghost!"
I honestly don't know what it was, but I do know that it was 100% real.
Was this the reason that the barn had sat empty for so many years????

I am trying to remember some, I've had a few doozies happen over the years but there are a few I don't like to tell because when I do, this feeling comes over me that I am somehow drawing evil (and by evil I mean demonic/Satanic) to me. It's a horrible feeling and so I don't tell those experiences.
I know exactly what you are talking about! ....and it is a TERRIFYING feeling!

I lived in a haunted house back in the late 1970's (I was in my early 20's)in a small town called Ayden N.C. (just outisde Greenville). I finely wrote a book about it and it was published last year. The book is titled "The Ghost In The Green Dress". I took my experiences and turned it into a murder mystery. You can check out the book by going to my website http://www.freewebs.com/theghostinthegreendress/
Right after I moved in was when strange things started to happen. I came home from work late one night (I lived by myself) and when I pulled into the driveway I could see that every light in the house was on and the front door was standing wide open. When I went in nothing had been disturbed and know one was inside.
Then I came home about 11:00 one night after going by the grocery store. I bought a six pack of canned cokes and some stuff for sandwiches. I made me a sandwich and got one coke out of the ring of six. I ate my sandwich but didn't finish my coke so I took it to the bedroom with me and put it on the nightstand in my bedroom. The next morning when I got up I went to the kitchen to cook breakfast. When I opened the fridge I noticed that two cokes were missing from the ring of six (I know I only drank one coke the night before) when I closed the fridge door something caught my eye over in the livingroom. On the end table next to the couch was an empty coke can and the telephone receiver was taken off the hook and was sitting on top of the empty coke can (WOOOOOOO).
Another time I was laying in bed one night and the whole house started to vilently shake. I jumped up and went to investigate. When I reached the kitchen I found a smoke detector lying on the floor. The thing is that there was never a smoke detector put in that house and there was no marks on the ceiling where it had fallen from. (another WOOOOOOOO) I found out later that this girl (that I would later see) had killed herself by setting the house on fire. The house I rented was sitting on top of the same site as the old house that burned down
Many other things happened but the best one was the night I saw her.
(The ghost in the green dress). It was about 2:30 A.M. and I was trying to sleep. There was a bad storm outside with lots of thunder and lightning. I was lying on my side and all of a sudden I felt something grab hold of my ankle. I looked up and She was standing at the foot of my bed and she had leaned over and was holding my ankle. At that moment, I was so terrified that I screamed and nothing came out. We looked at each other for what seemed like minutes but I'm sure it was only a matter of seconds. She had a pleasent smile on her face and as I think back about it I dont see why I was so frightened (I guess she just startled me). After a few moments a crack of lightning lit up the room and when it got dark again she was gone and I could move my ankle again.
All of these events and a few more were incorporated into my book. If you have the time to browse my site, I really would appreciate any feedback as to what you think about my site and please, sign my guestbook.

Zach, yep, it's a terrible feeling. I sometimes think maybe that's a little taste of what hell must be like...
Yes exactly....BUT in hell people will be separated from God completely and there will be no relief from the fear and torment.
Realistically, the average "joe" has a difficult time believing that Demons actually exist and that they can actually effect their lives. WHY? Because most churches are a sugar-coated Sunday morning fashion show.
Also...What alot of people don't realize is that Christ himself gave every true believer the authority to handle biz-nass when it comes to demonic spirits. (Some hollywood roman catholic priest with a cross and holy water is not necessary!)

My Mom and Dad (God rest their souls) used to live in an upstairs apartment, in a big old house, when they were first married and started having children.
My oldest brother, at about 3 months of age, had a horrible case of diarrhea that the doctor just couldn't stop. The doc told my Mom that if his diarrhea didn't stop soon, he was going to have to put my brother in the hospital. Well, back in those days - 1938 - when a person went into the hospital, there was a real good chance they wouldn't come out alive. It was like a "last resort" type move.
Anyway, my Mom was pacing the floor with my brother when a woman knocked on the door. This woman had to climb the backstairs, which were quite steep, in order to reach Mom and Dad's upstairs apartment entrance. My Mom looked up and told the woman that she really didn't have time to look at whatever she was selling, because she had a sick child.
The woman asked my Mom what the matter was and Mom explained. The woman then told my Mom to take two ginger snap cookies and soak them in some warm milk. Then, strain off the cookies and give the milk to my brother... and his diarrhea would be gone. My Mom half-heartedly was listening to the woman, thanked her for her advice, and the woman left.
When the diarrhea wouldn't stop and my brother was getting sicker and sicker, my Mom put him in his crib and ran the two blocks to the corner grocery store and bought some ginger snap cookies. She did as the woman instructed her to do and my brother's diarrhea stopped... totally.
The following day, my Mom went to the renter downstairs to ask what "that woman" was selling the previous day, who came to her door. The woman downstairs said that no one had come to her door.
Mom ran to the neighbors on both sides, asking them about the woman and no one had seen this woman that had come to my Mom and Dad's upstairs apartment door the previous day.
An angel sent to help? Who knows.

When I was in College at Kansas State. I shared an apartment with I guy I have knowning almost all my life. The layout of the apartment was a little different. When you come into the apartment you would turn right down a hallway which led to the bedrooms and bathroom. The Bathroom sink was actually in the hallway and had a large mirror that could see into both bedrooms. I was standing at the sink one morning getting ready for school when out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw someone standing in the doorway to Rick's room. I immediatley turned around to look and nothing was there. Rick was still in bed sleeping. I didn't think much of it until one night a bunch of us were setting around drinking when I mentioned something about it. I got the shock of my life when Rick said he had seen it also.
Another bizarre experince I had encountered was during December of 1999 when my Grandparents both passed away. My Grandfather was the first to go when he died from cancer. I just happen to be there at the hospital when my mom and aunt decided to go ahead and pull the life support system. I had called my brother to tell him that if he wanted to be there he had better hurray. He arrived about 30 minutes after they had pronounced Grandpa dead. When my brother walked in to say his goodbyes the body was still warm to the touch a second later it was cold. Being a police officer my brother knows a body doesn't stay warm that long. Grandma died a week later of what the doctors call an infection from open heart surgery. We believe she died of a broken heart. Shortly after both Funerals I got up one night to let my dogs out and felt a chill go up my spine and felt their presence in my house. I believe they were there to let me know everything was ok and that they were together. two more interesting thinds about this is Grandma died a week to the day we buried Grandpa and we buried her 2 weeks to the day he died. *And Granpa died on the 3rd of Dec. Grandmas B-day was on Jan 3rd. Grandma died on the 14 of Dec. and Grandpas B-day was on Sept. 14. The only time the were separated for any length of time was during WW2

I was in the Air Force, stationed in Kunsan Korea from August '96 to August '97. I worked in an aircraft hangar where we trained all the weapons crews on loading the jets. There's an old story that says during the Korean War, the base was overrun, and the pilots took off in the jets leaving the enlisted guys (and some non-flying officers) behind. Depending on who's telling the story, I heard everything from the pilots shot the ground crews before they left, or they were tortured when the base was taken over, or they were hanged by wires in some of the hangars. The Air Force says the stories are not true. Urban legend? Maybe not...
I was in the hangar by myself one Saturday catching up on some paperwork. I was sitting in the office when I heard a group of people out in the hangar. It sounded like there was a party going on inside the hangar. I got up from my desk to look out the office window into the hangar to see what was going on. There was no one in that hangar but me. I figured there must have been a group of guys walking past the hangar talking and laughing as they walked by. So I go outside to see if anybody is walking around and, you guessed it, there was nobody in sight. I went back into the office, grabbed my things, and never spent another weekend alone in that place again.

I lived in a haunted house, all sorts of bizarre things happened there!
One of the weirdest was the knocks on the door.
The living room had a side door that went to a *sun room* that was like a greenhouse, all glass.
Every night, around 10pm, there would be repeated knocks on the door that would escalate to sounding like someone was beating on that door. You could see the door shake from it! The door was steel and had four padlocks on it, there was no way into the sun room except through that door.
When we first moved in, we heard the knocking the first or second night. I called "Hello? Who's there?" several times with no response. We didn't have keys to the padlocks on the door, so my-then husband ran outside with a flashlight.
No one was in the sun room!
A couple nights later when it started up again, we called the cops, who heard it and saw it , too. One stood outside talking to the other via radio. Then they switched places. Both heard and saw what happened and yet, no one was in the sun room.
Finally, one cop told me "Face it lady, this place is haunted!" and they left, lol!
Also, same house, I was taking a bath in the old claw foot tub while my husband was shaving. I was just lying there, having a good soak when the water started splashing like someone was kicking their legs. I jumped out of the tub and my husband and I watched as the water continued to splash violently for about 15-20 minutes after I got out! (We were arguing about who would reach in the water to pull out the plug!)
We lived in that house for 6 months and got used to the weirdness.
When we moved, we moved to an apt across the street with a balcony that overlooked our old house.
A new family moved in.
The 5th night they were there, we heard a ruckus, so we went out on our balcony to see what was up.
New family, in nightclothes, mom strapping little ones in car seats, etc and screaming at her husband "I'm going to a motel, I will not sleep in this place another night!"
That house stood empty for a long time after that...

OK! This is my kind of thread. So I have always felt like I am a sensitive type of person. Always believed in gosts/spirits/angels. Love and loath strongly and have a fealing for everything and every person.
I have noticed over the years that my places that I have lived all have a certain fealing to them. The house I grew up in, very warm, close feal to it. But still had a certain odd feal to the upstairs. The first house DH and I live in was close to being just a shack. LOL It was just a dud house, just felt like a shell. No fealing to it at all.
Now the second house we lived in is where I realized that
houses come with a fealing (or none at all as with our first house). I was so excited to move out of the shack that I was in love with our newest house. It was a small shot gun house with an open upstairs. We set up our bedroom in the upstairs. The first thing I noticed was the alarm clock next to our bed. It would never be set to the right time. I would constantly have to be reseting the darn thing. I couldn't figure it out! Until one day I watched that thing go crazy and run through the time up, stop, and then run back the other way and stop on some random wrong time.
So I chalked that up to a power surge. Well maybe...
I was sitting in the living room one afternoon and I heard a "DING". Hmm.. sounds like the toaster oven I thought. Why is the toaster oven dinging?? I go to it and open it's door and the thing is HOT like someone had been using it!
By this time I do start to recognize an uneasy fealing of the house. About the second year of living there our daughter was about 1 1/2. One evening she stands up and looks off into the next room and calls out "Gramma!"
No gramma in sight...
Some nights I would hear a low hum like it was way off in the distance outside. (We lived in the country) Sometimes it would be like an idle engine of a large truck or machinery. But one night (and the last night we ever heard it) it was all around our house. Sounded like a broken record of an engine motor trying to idle up and then back down. We searched the whole house . least noise in the bastement. But when we went upstairs it was everywhere, loud, but nowhere we could find a reason. The spookiest damn thing.
BUT the biggest reason I know that house had spirits is this last story. After winter set in and the upstairs with no heat, we moved our bed into our daughter's room downstairs. I was laying awake in bed with DH out in the living room watching T.V. I was looking at my daughter's crib when a noticed what I thought was a fly with light reflecting on it flying around her bed. NOPE not a fly! This thing was it's own light, then there was two and then they were gone. THEN I heard what sounded like a little squibble squabble of a mouse type noise. Then all was gone. Shot up out of that bed so full of emotions that my DH didn't know what to make of me. I wan't scared, just in total awe and so struck that it made me cry.
We moved the next summer to the house we currently live in. We are the 6th generation of my husband's family to live here. Needless to say I have a very loved and homey feal about this house. This house DOES have it's spirits but they don't scare me, they are family :)
THanks for letting me share.
