I was wondering if anyone here had read "The Road" by Cormack McCarthy. Its about a father and son who have survived a world wide disaster of some kind (it never really says what happened). Its not so much about the mechanics of survival but asking questions about the motives for surviving when hope is gone. I enjoyed it and it is a quick read.

Think this is a wonderful book that should be read! Sometimes horrific, but beautiful. Poetic and simple. I'm glad to see it recommended here.

A waste of $10.43 Read most of it in one night wanting it to get better. It still didn't the next day as I finished it.
Me, I would've stayed at the cellar.
