I just finished reading 'A Week On The Concord And Merrimack Rivers' again for the I-don't-know-how-many-eth time...
...can you imagine trying to do the things Thoreau and his brother did 170 years ago? *To say you wouldn't get very far would be an understatement. *:-/
Who wouldn't want to live on Walden Pond the way Thoreau did for two years? Who would want to go back to business as usual afterward? Of course, he couldn't be tied down to one place for long. That's what ultimately did him in...but he died doing what he loved...seeing new places, meeting new people and experiencing new things. Not a bad way to go....
