alabaster jar

she carries an alabaster jar,
weeping, kneeling, wiping
His feet with her hair,
as He Rises;

she carries an alchemy far,
falling, swirling, burning
His soles with her flare,
while He Waits;

she carries an aliquant star,
crying, bending, leaving
His instep with her care,
so He Forgives;

she carries an alkaline war,
staining, turning, breaking
His stance with her stare,
and He Delivers.

English Sonnet

Woodstock

That August we knew Aquarian play
With Jimi "Spangle"-ing, Dylan "Rolling"
And Arlo "Alice"-ing, seducing sway
Over the word of mouth mass-gathering.
We saw unshaven hippies facing needs
Between loose meditation, wearing their
Encircled chicken claw and pagan beads
Down tie-dye garb as they breathed gypsy air.
A generation of flower power
In protest to war they demanded why,
Blooming Free Love but muddied by shower--
A hawkless haunt emasculated so high.
No one knows how it ever happened then;
But we know it will never happen again.
