View Full Version : Turning Point

For 30 years I drove on the turnpike
in pursuit of a dream.
Day after day, mile after mile,
How far would I have to go before getting there?
Looking to the horizen, the road seemed to go on
forever.
Reflecting on 30 years...
I did the math
The toll that I paid was my time
the time that I toiled was for money
Do I have enough?
As I came to the fork in the road, I thought
if I took the smooth straight familiar one
it holds a promise of financial security into the
golden year(s)
If I take the winding, rutty, dirt road, it makes no
promises
For some reason, the latter tugs at my heart
the former takes me further from my dream
What should I do?
Hmmm...
With a twinkle in my eye I look at my bride
Roll up the window and hang on were going for a ride

really cool poem

Thank you for posting that.

Keep in mind that security of any kind is a illusion

Tug at my heart, you unkempt path, away from noise and stuff:
Lead me astray, far, far away, from all this empty bluff.
