Its been years since I read it. Im sure some of the folks here have read it too, but there is probably alot that have not as well.
Does anyone see the moderns parrallels? If you havent read it check it out, and tell me what you think.

Excellent suggestion. I remember the book every time our politicians try to scare. This country is an unstoppable force when dedicated to war, as proven by WW II. But once you get the machine rolling, there's no guarantee that the man at the switch will want to stop it. The parallels are quite depressing, a little too close to modern day events. I wouldn't trust the people in power now. We were lucky with Truman and Roosevelt, since then we have a generation of cold warriors at the helm.
Two other books along this line that bear reading are Aldous Huxley's "A Brave New World" and Kurt Vonnegut's "Hocus Pocus"
