I woke up early, left the house,
I drove real far in search of grouse.
I spent the day up in the field,
Wondering what the day would yield.
I searched around and saw not one,
no bird flew by, this was not fun.
Later that day I headed back,
Across the town to my old shack.
My wife she asked "how did you do?"
So I told her " I just missed two."
Will I go back to hunt again?
Of course I will, ..long as I can.

I enjoyed reading your poem. You've got talent. When you mentioned throw you a theme and you can write a poem about it, I used to have my students write a poem in three minutes. Someone would throw out a subject, and I'd start a timer, and after three minutes the bell would go off, and then we'd share our poems. You wouldn't believe the wonderful stuff these kids could turn out. When they only had three minutes, they didn't "overthink" and their work was amazing. Other teachers and students would see their poems (we posted them outside our door) and they loved them. The kids got mad if an assembly or other thing prevented them from having their poetry classes (always the last period of the week). Keep up the good work.
