Spychips is a book that every one concerned about freedom should read. The advent of RFID chips in our society is something the "man on the street" knows or cares very little about. But these small devices are impacting our world in a major way.
You might think an RFID device isn't harmful to our freedoms because...heck...you have to have a reader and it can't be very far away. But you are oh...so wrong!
This book by Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre goes into great detail to show our national economic system's progress toward tracking every man, woman and child.
Chapter 14 discusses the "Verichip". This is a "rice-grained size" microchip which some companies now require employees working in highly secure areas to have injected into their bodies. This device is also capable of GPS tracking.
Many of our government leaders have been not only convinced of the benefits but have been encouraged to aggressively push the use of these objects. The book states these technologies now have "deep, profitable ties into Homeland Security and the Pentagon".
In fact, in addition to its use in tagging pets and wildlife for many years now, government is engaged in a rabid agenda to utilize the new technologies.
(My own research shows Former Secretary of Health & Human Services Tommy Thompson, under the Clinton Administration's big push for "socialized medicine". now sits on the board of Applied Digital Solutions. He was being "primed" by that company during the Clinton administration to use their new Verichip technology if the new healthcare initiative had occurred.)
This book is a must-read for anyone concerned about protecting our freedoms. Join Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre in their fight against a soon-transformed 1984 society at their websites: www.caspian.org or www.spychips.com or www.nochips.org
