I looked for you all though the night,
From Dusk's first shadows, Through Breaking Light,
My sleep has gone fom Lonelyness.
Can't count the days I've felt alone,
No where on Earth I feel at home,
I've tried searching for you, But Found Loneliness.
I've seen a lot in myh time,
had money galore and not a dime,
I 'd stop to think if I could get the time,
I'd be standing in line behind Loneliness.
You used to say I didn't really love you,
but did I really ever have the chance?
Can time stand still, can I get a glance?
Years did come and go, with me and lonliness.
Now my heart is passing, Passing in the Night,
Somewhere between confusion, heartache and frieght.
Now I have no one holding me tonight, Just Lonliness.
25 years wouldn't have been so long,
2 hearts together, could grow so strong.
Tell me why, why I'm all alone, Just me and Lonliness.
I had my door open to let you in,
but you had some fear from way back when,
I've started over & over Again, Just me and lonliness.
Theyn say if you love someone this much you'll set them free,
but what will happen, happen unto me,
Tomorrows Light - I jsut cannot see, Just Loneliness.
I have a pet dove that once I thought would,
be better off out in a big world living as he should.
in anger one day I turned him loose,expecting Lonliness.
But soon as the white dove found his wings were free,
he looked around and just saw me,
yes I was but supprised as he, me & loneliness.
Of all the beautiful places he could be,
the dove came back and landed on me,
Love is as strange as it can be, me and loneliness.
Now its been 6 long months we've been free,
the woman I loved, got tired of me,
I can hardly write cause I can hardly see, for loneliness.
I stood last night, watcing every move,
for just one glimpse as you came through.
I stood motionless, not trying to win or loose,
Me and Loneliness.
Hearts are passing, passing in the night,
when dusk first starts, till broad daylight,
Oh Where will I be in the Coming Nights,
Me and Loneliness.
