Canadian Gays Urge More Government Control Of Private And Home Schools Over 'Homophobia'
March 7, 2007 - Gay activist groups in Ontario are urging the provincial ministry of education to exert more control over private and home schools to fight against the alleged effects of homophobia.

LifesiteNews.com reports on an article in Ottawa's Capital Xtra that objects to religious schools teaching "only their own values."

The article by Tony Lovink claims that "All private schools tend to be at least implicitly homophobic. And I would say all religiously formed independent schools are definitely homophobia. Lovink describes himself as a gay Christian school teacher.

The Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario says it is concerned that the provincial ministry of education was failing to exert "more control" over the curriculum used by private religious schools. The coalition also objects to private schools hiring teachers based upon the school's own qualification requirements.

In October 2006, the Quebec government ordered private Christian schools to begin teaching sex education and Darwinism in compliance with the provincial curriculum. Schools failing to implement these materials were threatened with closure.

In British Columbia, gay activists Murray Corren and Peter Corren were granted power over the provincial school curriculum as part of a lawsuit settlement. The settlement also introduced a policy prohibiting parents from removing their children from the classroom when gay-affirmative materials were being taught.

Peace,

Wait a minute, I personally have no issue with anyones private sexual preference, but first of all we have suffered in your face Homo, metro, tri, bi, sexual media for a decade or more now.

So after sticking it in our face, as if we wanted to know, and getting their coming out party, now they want to stick their noses into other folks bedrooms and education as well.

Homosociofascists who would have believed it. Holy Smokes.

i dont think he is condemning all homo sexuals but rather the people trying to force their lifestyles to be taught in private institutions or homes.

prolly the best way around this stunt is to say that you & your family & school is islamic. then you can get away with anything.

Peace,

Yes excuse me it has nothing to do with their lifestyle I could care less, but when these folks try to force their life choice into legislation or worse, into, or influencing other peoples choices or their children's education, I find cause for serious concern. I personally know quite a few folks with these lifestyle choices, they feel the same way about homo extremists, it disgusts them as much as I.

Yes, There is a new law in California whereby there can be NO discrimination of homosexuality, transgender and whatever "perceived" gender identification is called. All materials will reflect this. An example would be a book that says mommy and daddy is labeled discrimination. But mommy and mommy or daddy and daddy is not discrimination. Another example is that bathrooms and shower rooms will become gender neutral. If you "perceive" yourself to be female, even thought you are physically male', you can then use the female bathroom or shower room.

Now as to homeschoolers. The gay community fears that this is not what is being taught and they feel it fosters discrimination and want to stamp it out. Thererfore they need more control of homeschooling agenda.and that is what this is all about.

As an aside, they also will have to neutralize the Christian churches and i assume they will handle that through the 'hate speech" laws.

In any case the home schoolers association is fighting tooth and nail on this matter.

We home school 4 children but not for that particular reason. It may come as a total surprise to them in their self fascination that we could care less what they do. We home school simply because we feel we are giving them a better education than they would receive through the public schools. I have a degree in education and I know what I am talking about. I realize my children are not any smarter than the next but i know they will be better prepared for life through their education.

Sorry I go so long winded.
