how many hours a day.

while I am about 4 years from even having a child and another 4 years from worrying about schooling. I have a few questions.

I feel I was poorly educated in my early years, and it wasn't untill I got to college and pretty much took charge of it myself that I started to clean up some of my education issues.

as you all notice from my posts I'm still working on that spelling thing :)

so, with that and other reasons I feel that traditinal schooling is mostly about wasting time and paying teachers who just care about ten year.

when ever I tell people I want to home school my children I get the well how can you do that and work. there just isn't enough time.

I think this is because they view schooling as iin school for 7 hours a day. but how much of that time is actuall study and how much is lunch playtime, walking the halls inbetween class, or waiting the 10 minutes at the start of each class for the teacher to get the class under control.?


so my question how much time a day do you have to devote to schooling your children?

Depends. :)
My little siblings can get all of their school done in 3-4 hours.
