I am now responsible to teach a group of people about preparedness and self reliance.
Any ideas of how to get this point/idea across and still make it fun. Here are my ideas so far
Personal safety - have a police officer come and talk about the types of crime in our area and how to protect home. In another room - teach self defense to women
Bread baking -
Other uses for wheat- using bulgur, tortillas, popped wheat, spanish wheat, etc.
getting out of debt - making a plan
basic sewing - bring in the machines and go to it
what to store/how to store it/not just food
First aid/CPR
make-a-mix cooking/ useful spice blends
Things to make with powdered milk
sprouts
activities- games/fun
dutch oven/campstove cooking
How do I make it meaningful and yet fun? We do this kind of thing all the time but it never seems to 'take' with those that say they are interested.
