My son has severe psoraisis (sp?) on his arms - to the point where it hampers him socially, etc. Well I found this cream on sale at the local grocer called Tri Derma - it is a miracle! We have tried everything for his condition - vitamin e oil, lecithin (taken orally), neosporin, and all kinds ot other topical treatments. It is a little pricey - even on sale I think it was $10, but so worth it. So just wanted to post this success in case anyone else deals with this health issue or knows someone who does. This company also makes other treatments for skin problems - so I'd recommend at least trying their products if you're at your wits end and nothing seems to be working!

That's Awesome you found something over the counter that works for your son. Nothing but Eucerin cream works for me over the counter, and it is just a moisturizer that keeps my hands from splitting as bad.
Keep an eye on his arms, and look for it to appear elsewhere, often times it goes away in one spot to reappear in others. I had a fist sized spot on the back of my calf, and that was 3 years old and has responded to NO treatments. The Dr punch biopsied it and the spot went away. A few months later, it reappeared on the front of my shin directly in front of where it had been on calf.
This Eczema and psoriasis crap is pure evil. I have one tube of miracle prescription stuff that is supposed to be the nuclear bomb for eczema, and I think my skin cells kind of giggle when I apply it. The class 3 heavy steroids usually work temporarily on my Psoriasis (yes double diagnosed) but ti always creeps back.
I am happy for your son, but like I said, keep an eye on it, and look for it's return. You might, if you haven't already, look at his diet. A lot of sufferers report improvement with dietary changes, including doing away with nightshade vegetables and often times wheat gluten.
Good luck.

I'm so glad you found something *:D
I'm going CRAZY with mine right now *:o
I've had a rash on my foot for about 2-3 years but was told it was because of sweaty feet .... talk about a load of Crud ..... I knew it was Bull Stuffing because I only had it on one foot. *:-/
Well this past year I BLOOMED with it ...... I now have it on both hands up my arms, over the entire right shin, both inner thighs and still have it on my foot *::)
I'm trying to make the decision on if I want to go to the dermatologist or an allergist. I haven't been able to find the trigger yet but I'm going NUTS *:o
I was put on sterroids and it only helped it for a little while .... by the time I was done the sterroids it was already starting to itch again.
Nothing seems to help for more that a short time. *:'(
Anyone got a back scratcher or hand mits that I can't take off? ;)

I was just reading, today, on MSN, that Psoriasis is associated with Diabetes, in so far as the underlying causes go. having the dreaded P. *myself, & it gives me hell, from time to time, I ought to be more careful in future. http://www.news-medical.net/?id=23875 (http://LINKADDRESS)

idirs - a concerning study to be sure. My son is only 24 years old. I know his diet is not good and I think this contributes to the skin condition as well as his alcohol consumption.
