Has anyone tried this? I keep reading about it and they say that *two teaspoons of Certo pectin dissolved in 3 ounces of grape juice taken daily will reduce joint pain in less than two weeks.

I know that black cherries (even canned ones) work for gout - so maybe this will too! (Dad and a great aunt both had relief from gout by eating 6-7 black cherries a day.)

No studies have been done - mainly, I guess, because there's no big money to be made if it works, since these are both common foods.

I've bought some pectin and grape juice - just wondering if anyone here has tried it yet!

Edited to add:
I found this link to the People's Pharmacy with more info: http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/archives/home_remedies/purple_pectin_for_pain.php

Knoxx gelatin in a glass of OJ for me. Makes a lot of diference. VA did a study on it, and treated people waiting for joint replacements with it for two months and a high percentage, something like 80 or so no longer needed joint replacement.
Give it a shot.
Cherry juice has long been known for it's anti-inflammatory benefits, I need to try some for my skin to see if that would help it as well.

You can pay a lot for chondroitin / glucosamine - but that's what's found in gelatin. I did notice that Knox went much more expensive when people figured this out.

Certo seems to work the same way, and the reports were that some folks who didn't have luck with the Knox DID have good results from sure-gel. Must be some similar makeup, only sure-gel is from vegetable sources and gelatin is from animal sources.

My sister also discovered that there is a liquid chondroitin for animals and the company makes a flavored product for human consumption. It's about $70 for a gallon, but compared to the expense and pain of joint replacement, I don't see why anyone would go that way if they didn't have to!!

(Of course, your friendly neighborhood doctor would not be able to afford his Lexus if you fixed it with food instead of surgery!)

CarolAnn or anyone else try this?
I was going through back pages of the heath forum & found this. If it works I was wondering if muscadine juice would work also. Sure could stand to lower cost of chondroitin / glucosamine for the joints.
Thanks,
Sissy

Pineapple also works as an anti inflammatroy drug.

How about a mixture of Sure-gel and pineapple juice?
I've not tried it yet, but from reading the posts on this forum, it sounds like it might be a good combination to try.

It would be good to hear from some other members to see how they are doing on Sure-gel and juice (what kind).
