Hammer Toes?

Oh, woe is me.
My hammer toes have gone on a rampage and i must see a foot doc to do something about it, or just stop walking. It is so painful.
Does anyone know what they will do to me. Break my toes, amputate them, put them in a sling?
Oh, please tell me none of these thngs is so.
Maybe they have a little pill i can take , or somethin. Ha! love, alma

You might just need more room in the toes of your shoes - either try a larger toe box shoe or see if a repairman can stretch the toe area in some existing shoes for you. (A good one will get in there with a stretcher and make a place for that pesky little hammer you're trying to walk on!) Hopefully, taking the pressure off will help you.

I've got a pair of "running shoes" that I bought xxx wide to fit my fat feet - and I could get an extra set of toes in there with me if I needed to! They're nice also because they close with velcro. I'm not able to run - but these babies sure help me walk with less pain! (So what if my shoes look like Ronald McDonald rejects?!) The do the job.

My three year old has them. They make a little thing with a loop and a stick, that pulls the toe up or down, depending on which way it goes, and helps kepp it where it is supposed to be. As long as there is room in your shoes for them!

damn! a really good foot doc here wants to put me to sleep and put pins in each one, a foot at a time and overnight in hospital for each foot.
The pins stay in a week and you can walk with them in place until they are taken out and voila! -- the toes are straight from then on.
Both feet have all the toes bent real bad.. You can write in hammer toes on internet and see a pic of what it's all about. love, alma
