Hi everyone. Just wondering if you all had any ideas on what do for an ear ache? My kids are visiting their Dad in Maryland , I am in Wisconsin. My daughter called me this morning at the crack of O:dark early crying because her ear hurt, I am sure it is an infection. I will not be able to send out the amoxicillin intil Saturday and it will take a few days to get to her, so I just don't know if there is anything else that she could do in the mean time to make it less painful. She is 13. Thank you very much in advance for any input you may have. Have a great and safe 4th!!!!

I have ear issues alot. *I use garlic oil (crushed garlic in a little olive oil) warm it up and let it soak for 30 minutes or so and then put a few drops in the ear. *I also use hydrogen peroxide. *Usually about a cap full. *Pour it in the ear, tilting your head so it doesn't run right back out. *let it fizz and do it's thing for a few minutes. *Then tilt the head to drain. *I use peroxide first then a few minutes later the garlic oil. *A heat pad on the ear may also help.

Caution - I would not use either of these methods if there is a chance that the ear drum is ruptured.

This usually works for me. *

Tell her daddy to get her to a walk in clinic. Pronto! It might be swimmers ear in which it will only get worse without attention. It won't cost much and they can hurry up and get treatment started. For a child, don't take chances with their hearing or sight. If her dad is going to take her out of state, he needs to be responsible for medical emergencies.
