Some of us with diabetes will be extremely happy to find out that inhaled insulin is finally available! :)

That's encouraging news. I had heard something about this in passing but that was it. I wonder if it will be cost effective so that everyone needing it can get it?
I don't have diabetes yet, but my sugar gets a little high now and then, but I can control it with diet so far, when I pay proper attention to my diet. However with family history from grandparents right down to my oldest sister, it is probably only a matter of time regardless, I hope to lessen the effects and stave off the onset.

My daughter has had diabetes since she was 19, and i about 60 now.
She has developed schcleredeeeema, a complication of diabetes, very rare, and not life threatening.
Even diabetes docs don't know a lot about it, and we had to bring it to their attention before they "discovered" it.
The skin gets real thick and hard like a rock, on upper torso, and interferes with her movement.
Now, that is not schleredeeeerrrrrrma. That is when even some inner organs are affected, and is life threatening, i believe.
I am hearing a lot about the glycemic index, where foods are numbered high and low glycemic.
You can find it on the internet.
The high foods make your sugar peak after you eat, and that is where the trouble begins.
You can eat all of the low food you want and the sugar rises and sets slowly and is much more controlable.
Sue's is out of control, and she will not pay attention yet. I hope she will at least give it a try , or at least eat less forbidden fruit.
Also, using cinnamon for one thing helps to level things off, i am reading, among many other things i am studying these days.
I had canceer 35-40 years ago, and lost right breast. Had it again last year and dropped the other. Huh, have i had fun with my new dolly partons that i keep in the drawer most of the time. They are so heavy. Poor Dolly.
I am learning so much about anti cancer diets, and so many other things, trying to help myself, and comparing notes with some other people i meet a few times a month at church, on the same quest, re diet and it's effect on health, hebs, etc. too.
I really enjoy the study, getting a great deal of info on the internet.
Of course, i'd rather be in the bahamas. love, alma
