A friend of mine and I were talking about the gifts we purchased this year and ways we could save money on next years gifts. He told me how he tried to save money by buying gifts earlier in the year.
One year he purchased his kid's gift for the next Christmas in January or February. He said he got a good deal on the gift. He brought it home and put it in the closet. The next December when he went to get the present he saw that he could no longer give this gift to his kid.
I asked if his child had already found the present and had been playing with it.
He said " No. The puppy had died."
