Peace,

Is the mind material? That is to say, does one need the physical construct that is a "brain" to have consciousness? Can consciousness exist with out molecular structure? Is energy aware?

Lets us suppose that thought is creative/destructive, it would be logically possible given the nature of things,
{I think I will plant a garden.}
[Should I plant the garden?]
(I will plant the garden.)
I have planted the garden.
The garden is now a causal reality.

{creative thought, 1st order desire, to plant the garden}
[ reason/logic, 2nd order desire, for or against garden]
(Volition--action on desire, I will plant the garden.)
Creation--The garden is planted.
The garden exists, hence, thought, in this case is creative.

1st order desire{I think I will water and weed the garden}
2nd order desire[I should tend to the garden?]
Volition (I did not tend the garden.)
The garden is no more.

Even though these thoughts about the garden weren't specifically, intentionally destructive, they have by their omission , naturally destroyed the garden. In both cases "free will" or the "mind" has effected creation and destruction. Something from nothing, and nothing from something.

Could any of the above occurred with out the existence of the brain?

Peace,

Lets us suppose thought is creative, and the mind, is not just a molecular structure, nerve cells and the like.
Consciousness in energy form, then truly, we would be what we believe and create/destroy.

In a sense that is exactly the reflection of the world today. We do not believe as a whole that we are in control of our world and hence it is so.
We believe in general in a "god " that has need and demand for us to "obey" or be "punished".
Many Governments and financial policies, foreign and domestic are based on this notion.

"God" being omnipotent, has no need for anything from us.

This is a logical contradiction. Fallacy. "God" can not be both omnipotent and require our obedience to effect his/her goals.

We have the collective energy and thought powers, to create the world in reflection of what we believe. If the world in which we live is flawed , logic/reason, mandates, we re-evaluate our belief structure.

Peace,

To arrive at truth , we have to reason correctly. Philosophers have always appreciated that fact and have made the study of correct reasoning -logic- one of their central concerns. Logic doesn't attempt to determine how people -in fact- reason. Rather it attempts to determine how people -should- reason if they want to avoid error and falsehood.

Logical thinking is rational thinking, and rational thinking is that which is most likely to lead us to the truth.

Plants grow, with or without, our omniscience presence.
In fact, plants grow in SPITE of us.
How can the relative mind, made up of time and space, ever undestand the timeless, spaceless absolute, the creative force that we call "God".
--and we destroy all that this creative force ever made, fighting about who knows it best.
We fight over who is right until there will be nothing left
if we don't let the absolute be what it is, without the relative messing up the whole universe.
We can't create one iota, but sure can destroy, do the work of what we call "devil", real or assumed. love, alma

In complete agreement that ,reflection upon human history,
evokes remorse over how well, skilled and inventive we are in the pursuit of destruction.

One can not help but imagine if the same amount of effort in that endeavor was applied to creative pursuits.

Peace,

Plants with emotions, "logically possible". If I were a plant with consciousness, Yea ,depending on where I was trying to live, I might be spiteful toward humanity I would be poison Ivy or something with thorns.;D

How can the relative mind, made up of time and space, ever understand the timeless, space less absolute, the creative force that we call "God".

Intrepid endeavor, I AM READY :)

--and we destroy all that this creative force ever made, fighting about who knows it best.

I infer we would have to redefine our beliefs of what "god" is, then, whether or not their is purpose in life, or for life.
If our beliefs are errant then so are our efforts.
