Peace,
Is the mind material? That is to say, does one need the physical construct that is a "brain" to have consciousness? Can consciousness exist with out molecular structure? Is energy aware?
Lets us suppose that thought is creative/destructive, it would be logically possible given the nature of things,
{I think I will plant a garden.}
[Should I plant the garden?]
(I will plant the garden.)
I have planted the garden.
The garden is now a causal reality.
{creative thought, 1st order desire, to plant the garden}
[ reason/logic, 2nd order desire, for or against garden]
(Volition--action on desire, I will plant the garden.)
Creation--The garden is planted.
The garden exists, hence, thought, in this case is creative.
1st order desire{I think I will water and weed the garden}
2nd order desire[I should tend to the garden?]
Volition (I did not tend the garden.)
The garden is no more.
Even though these thoughts about the garden weren't specifically, intentionally destructive, they have by their omission , naturally destroyed the garden. In both cases "free will" or the "mind" has effected creation and destruction. Something from nothing, and nothing from something.
Could any of the above occurred with out the existence of the brain?
Peace
