View Full Version : plastic sleeves for the magazine?

Is there any way I can request that my magazine subscription be sent in an opaque plastic sleeve? Three pieces of mail in my mailbox appear to have been partially opened in the past few weeks, including my latest issue of BHM. The store manager explained that this sometimes happens when putting mail in boxes, even P.O. boxes (even though this has NEVER happened to ANY of my mail at P.O. boxes that I remember). The magazine had one sticker undone and torn. Another piece of mail, a catalog, had both stickers torn, each in a different manner.

The manager persuaded me to keep my box and even suggested having the lock changed, which he did in a few minutes. He seems a good man. However, I still wonder if someone could have been looking through my mail. A plastic sleeve would go a long way toward preventing that.

One shrink-wrap machine, stickers with customer address and postal bar code, and BWH would be able to send the magazines wrapped in clear plastic, or whatever color plastic they chose.
Might add to the cost, though. Which of course subscribers would pick up.

You can have your subscription mailed in a protective envelope.

This is done by hand by the folks at the office and of course there is an additional cost -- $12 per year, which covers the cost of the envelope and First Class postage.

If you subscribe or renew here in the General Store, look for the box with IMPORTANT! just above the cart icon you click to add the subscription to your shopping cart. You can select First Class delivery in the first drop-down menu.
