View Full Version : A Hero has passed.
One of my friends Rick was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wed. morning. Rick was a Special forces Sgt. an plank owner in Delta Force, and not only survived RVN, and some other nasty places, but was one of the ten men out of thirty four that survived a trip into Cambodia back in the 60's. Rick had been wounded more than once in service to this country, and had courage that bordered on insanity.
He is survived by his wife and daughter. Rick will be greatly missed. Please pray for his family.

Prayer will be offered for him and his family.
The funeral went as well as these things go. It was a meeting of retired eagles with the odd wolf thrown in for good measure. The Patriot Riders were in attendance to ward off any protestors that might show up, though none did. Rick had always said that he wanted to be killed in combat or riding his Harley, so I guess he got at least part of his wish.
Rick was buried in the military cemetary on the Southeast corner of Ft. Hood along with other old soldiers that have gone to their reward. It is a beautiful place though it's not old enough to have matured as of yet.
Wish I could have heard more of his stories. He shared few with anyone, so I do feel honored to know what I do.
