Grizz i too have suffered from ptsd. although its not only confined to vets its most common to us so ill assume you are a vet.

I went to the VA and got help and it really started to work in a short time. I am still in treatment now and am not ashamed. It was the right thing to do and now I am starting to feel like I can live with myself.

Going in for treatment doesn't mean your crazy it means your sane enough to know you have a problem, it doesn't mean your weak either it means you are strong enough to do something about it.

The pain will not go away on its own and going to see a doctor about this is no different then seeing a Doc for any other type of pain.

Not one much for prayer myself but Id like to offer you my positive energy and courage to help you get past this. Go see a Doc Brother it certainly cant make things any worse.

Besides if you are a vet, by their own admission they owe you.

BTW with ptsd theres nothing wrong with you, theres something wrong with what happened to you and how you have had to handle it.

Grizz,
I completely understand.
It's not something people truly understand unless and until it happens to them.

I hit rock bottom on Memorial Day 2001...I didn't understand what was happening at the time....I can remember lying on the couch....it was like the the will to do ANYTHING other than barely breath was completely wrung outa me!!
Thankfully, things eventually got better!

PTSD and/or depression can happen to anyone...military..cancer...accident, etc., etc., etc.,.

If you ever need someone to talk to...PM me..I'll give you my number.

And, yeah, the prayers are a given!

Hello Grizz,

I do not post here that often anymore...
but this is something worth replying to...YOU!

Sometimes...we get backed into a corner, and that great big "WHY?" can consume us. Please, as suggested, speak with folks in your own life you feel you can open up to and share what is going on and they will be there to listen. People that can help the most are those that have been through similar experiences and traumas...People you have respect for, what they do and what they are...are the ones that will listen to you with sincerity and give feedback that will help you alleviate the weight upon you. It may even surprise you that some of the strongest people in your life have been there where you are.
The most compassionate and caring and loving people...the REAL people in my life, that feel things are so wrong and want to make things right...get overwhelmed with frustration...until they know their are many others like them going through the same things.
You are NOT alone...and I too pray you move forward from this...but please continue to share as you have on this site...there are others you care for that care deeply for you...and they will be there for you now if you open up to them.
Please share more here...if you feel up to it.
There are some very, very good people around this site that look over the posts...and are here to help...because that is what they do.

The Grizz I will put you in my prayers! Depression is a scary thing. Please go talk to your doctor. I'm am a vetran myself but my struggle with depression just started a few weeks ago and I am getting the treatment I need now. I had to small strokes the end of Oct this year at the age of 34 was a shock to say the least. My recovery has been great and will have at least a 90% full recovery in the next 6months they believe but one of the side effect of the stroke was depression and it him me like a bus! But now it's in check found the right medication to take. If you ever need someone to talk to I will pm you my numbers and email know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Grizz, will pray for you, too. I could tell you my story, but--it's rather long and, suffice it to say, I just try different pills as they are suggested--basically, the good ones make me feel drunk all the time and I really have to beg the dr.s not to overmedicate me as then I can no longer function and I am a busy woman.
It helps to live just day to day :) Sometimes, hour to hour.
I've had medical bills about the size of a new car--thank goodness the dh's insurance covered me.
Remember, this is something you have, but don't let it define who you are or limit your dreams :)

The Grizz although I'm a little late here I'm adding you to my prayers. Glad to know you went to the doc and hope they will be able to help you. I can only imagine what your are going through as my late hubby, a Viet Nam vet, would never discuss his experiences.
