Hello!
I am a single male. 45 years old and parent of one great kid who lives with me most of the year. My son and I have been pretty mcuh on our own since hew was 2 and he is now 12. We live on a little ranch here in the Clark Fork Valley of western Montana. I am an avid gardener and outdoorsman. An individualist in most every sense of the word. I have found it hugely difficult to meet women who can appreciate a rural lifestyle and know what it means to share in the simple things in life. I am very active and enjoy spending most of my free time out in the wilderness( horse back riding, backpacking, snowshoeing, kayaking, hunting, fishing, prospecting) or taking care of things around home. This is probably why I have had a hard time meeting people as I don't get out amongst the population much.
I was a wilderness and arctic survival instructor in the military but I do not refer to myself as a survivalist. I do not live in a "compound" paint my truck camoflage or have an old concrete septic tank buried out back in which I keep ammo and provisions in.
I am a native Montanan. My family has lived self reliantly for generations so for me it is more of a way of life. I really haven't known any other way. I am an organic gardener, raise alot of our own stock, pretty handy in the kitchen and especially when it comes to a dutch oven. I enjoy canning, sausage making, soap and cheese making and in the process of builing a butter churn at the moment.
I am well employed and make a pretty good living. Weary of the type of women that I have been able to meet so far. Those attached to posessions and toys and bound by vanity and modern convenience. i.e. "What do you mean there's now shower at your cabin?" Hey! but there is a creek! That statement doesn't often resolve the issue in a suitable manner.........or atleast for them anyway.
I am pretty spontaneous and been known to drop what I am doing and head for the mountains just to see if the elk have had their babies yet, catch a fish or find a huckleberry or just lay in the grass along the creek and watch the clouds go by. Looking for someone to explore and share in the journey with. You can check out my "myspace page" by the link under the donkey. It has a little more info about me and some pictures, too! Thanks for taking the time to read this little bit of ramble. Jeff
