Older laptops used Nicad batteries that benefitted from depleting the battery charge and then fully recharging them. This was done to prevent "memory" issues which effectively meant the length of charge retention was reduced.
Newer laptops, and many other devices, use lithium ion batteries that do not fall victim to the same problems so you don't need to perform the maintenance which benefitted older versions. Doing so once in a while will just verify the length of time you can run on battery power, not really help the battery life.

That ebatts site is great it actually had a replacement battery I have been looking for for months. Now I just have to get enough money to buy it.

i think ebatts has an option where you can send them your old battery and they put new battery chemicals in it for you. i know somebody has that option, because i had that done for a CF25 battery for my really old laptop

wow! ebatts has a good price on the clamshell apple ibook battery! I need one for my 3yr olds laptop.
