Firefox vs. IE

Which browser would you recommend? I have always used IE but I was having trouble downloading a program and decided to download firefox to try the program. It downloaded perfectly and it seems to run much faster than IE. What is your experience with Firefox? Is it as reliable and trustworthy (for what that's worth nowadays)?

Been using Mozilla since it came out. Tried FireFox for a while, it was the upgrade for Mozilla, went back to Mozilla. Might have been because I had an older machine at the time (Win98). You're right, it is a lot faster and a better browser. Keep a copy of IE on hand (like windows will let you get rid of it). MicroSoft is a lot of muscle in the market place, and sometimes you will come across a website that has a lot of special non-standard stuff for IE. It still crawls when loading.

Really neat thing about FireFox and Mozilla is that you can right-click on a picture, select View Image from the pop-down menue, and see a larger version of the picture (depending on resolution, etc.). It's a good program, and you have stepped up to a better browser.

I highly recommend Firefox.

Firefox is more efficient with system resources. It also does what you tell it to. nothing else. IE does all kinds of sneaky stuff. it sends data to microsoft on what you are looking at. it opens up a bunch of different ports and protocols that you don't need. it makes my security software go crazy. I use firefox.

Definitely Firefox! If you do some checking around, most of your internet hosting servers won't even go near IE for many reasons. One of the reasons is the security risks. IE is much more vulnerable that Firefox. System resources is another issue as someone mentioned. The only time I ever need IE is to download from Microsoft. LOL....Otherwise, I have no trouble using Firefox on any sites I go to.

I prefer Firefox. Never had any problems with it. Can't say the same for IE.
