"Educational" DVD

I'm looking for good quality DVD for my preschool child. I don't want cartoon stuffs. Samese Street style is out. I am wanting DVD's that would show the real life of animals, wildlife, and homesteading on preschool level (or early grades). She has been preferring DVDs showing real animals above Baby Einstein. Milo & Otis, Flicka (old version), Black Beauty, and a few more. What I am looking for is these that shows more of real life than heavy on storybooks.

Would anybody know whether such actually exisit??? I'd be most grateful if anybody think they might have answer and share it here.

I know these might not be exactly what you have in mind; but what about DVD's of the old series like The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie?
They are pretty educational in some ways, compared to alot of other stuff.
