Congratulations!
Nice side by side you have. Were you shooting slugs, or buckshot?

Hey Michael,
Look at the pict. a little better, the gun is a "drilling"....
I was using the "bottom" bbl., and it's a rifle... :D
The bottom bbl is chambered for 8x57jrs, and i handload all of the ammo for the rifle bbl with 200 grain Nosler Partitions...
Thanks for the reply.. 8)

Thanks PP,
Now, more info on my drilling...
It was made by Krieghoff in Germany in 1935, and was proofed in Oct. of that year, this is back when they made some of the finest drillings ever made!!
It came to me by way of the guy that took it out of a cassle durning WW11, as he was doing a sweep looking for German soldigers...
It got pretty beat up by the time i got it, so i and others rebuilt it to what i always wanted the hunting gun of my dreams to be! That was in the early 80's and it's now better than new, and i do 99% of all of my hunting with it...
I believe i'm up close to 20 one shot kills with it on big game now, and i've harvested everything from moose and bear on down to deer, havolina, coyotes and all kinds of small game with it...
It's 16-16- 8x57jrs, and i have Krieghoff inserts for it in 22lr, and 22 Win. mag.... I also have several sub chambers for the rifle bbl, and a set of slide in sleves so i can shoot 20 ga. ammo in it...
The scope is in claw mounts, and always comes back to zero no matter how many times you snap the scope on and off.
This gun is easy to carry too, at just 7 pounds... :)
Can you tell that i love this gun?? ;D

I missed the 16. Makes it even that much cooler. 16 is an under rated gauge in this day. I carry a 16, put away the 12 for now.

CC, this is my thread, so i guess it's OK if i hi-jack it! :D
Do you like higher quality guns too? I'd rather have one high quality gun than 6 or 8 run of the mill guns!!

DM that is one sweet gun with magnificant history. You must love having such a versitile gun that is so consistent and deadly. Thanks for sharing that.
Penny
Thanks Penny,
When i got it, the stock was in pieces and it looked pretty rough. I cerosafed the chamber to see what i had, and made 5 caseings out of 7x65R brass that i had around... I then made the missing pieces for the stock, and got the gun shootable... Once i saw how accurate it was, i negotiated a price and bought it...
I harvested this moose within a few weeks,

It wasn't long before i was restoreing it to the way i wanted it, and it's been my "go to" gun ever since!
