Hubby came home from the night hunt w/ his doe tag filled~I should be out helping w/the skinning, but it's too dang cold and so, I'm hiding in the house *;)Last week he got a nice 3 pt buck and that's in the freezer now. *We cheated a bit and paid to have it cut and wrapped and some jerked up, because with moving our new manufactured in, we are way short of time. *
I've been going out pretty regularly, w/ no luck, so this weekend I'll get on it. *We have a large herd of deer that hang out behind my office (I have yet to figure out how to lead one home-lol) and the buck was definitly in love with a couple of does yesterday. *I want to fill my tag before the rut sets in too hard.
Then, in mid-November, hubby has a spike or better elk tag, so if all goes according to plan, the freezer will be full between the hog we raised and the meat we hunted. *The funny (or sad) thing is that I really don't care for venison or elk, however, the husband and 11 year old still at home can eat it every night, so that's not a problem...
Feels good, and hubby's happy that his tags are filled!
