It seems as life goes on hunting seems to get more expensive and the season gets shorter. more propaganda gets spread in school about not harming poor Bamby or thumper. I remember as a 12 year old bringing my 22 rifle on the bus to school for our after school shooting club. can you imagine what would happen now. someone seems to want to raise a bunch of wusses in our kids today. lets have them all trade their 22s in for little dollies. I for one try and teach anyone that will listen that hunting is a national heritage and should be practiced and protected. Whats your take on it?

The price does seem to go up every year but honestly, I haven't hunted in a few years. I'm certainly not opposed to it and would be happy to take my boys out when they come of age. My wife won't touch venison so I can't see hunting at this stage of the game. Fishing is the same way, prices just keep climbing. I keep thinking that the $30.00 or so dollars is well worth the many hours of enjoyment I get out of it however in the back of my head, I'm not so sure I should have to pay anything to hunt or fish.
I certainly don't see it going away in my area.
Everything you do today is way over priced!
Where i live, you can buy a hunting license and go hunting on public land. I know lots of guys that do that, and those that are good hunters do very good, getting one or two deer pretty much every year.. I did it for many years myself...
The secret to hunting here is, buy some land!! If you own your own land, you don't need a small game license to hunt small game, and all you need to hunt deer is, go buy a $10.00 doe tag! You don't even need a hunting license to hunt doe's on private property, just that $10.00 tag...
For these days, that's not too bad of a deal...
BTW, the license here for seniors is discounted too...
I hope and pray that the anti's don't take over, and all we can do is to keep fighting the good fight!!

I think one way we can insure that hunting is around for a long time is to participate. The money made off of hunting tags raises a lot of money for the states, and money is what the politicians understand. I pay$ 50.00 every year to hunt. That just covers one deer tag and general game not including turkey or duck hunting.I figure by the time I add up the hours of enjoyment it gives me ,I am getting off pretty easy. I spend almost that much, just to take the wife and kids to the movies.

At home, it's 12.50 per license. Gotta' have a state and big game license 25.00, archery and muzzle loader, 12.50 ea. That's IF you don't own land. I hunt my own piece of mountain, and costs me nothing.
I usually buy a license to do my firearms hunting in another county where I can go thin does out. The money keeps the state happily providing hunting licenses for those that really do need them, and keeps a lot of hunting programs going too.
If they do do away with hunting ever, I will become one damn ferocious poacher. I rely on venison and small game to keep me eating well.

I am sure someday we will only be allowed to hunt in designated "hunting club" grounds with complete background and psychological checks, for only the Politically Correct animals, that are adequately stocked.
Hey maybe this could be a money maker. We buy the land stock it and then get laws passed that allow people to hunt only on our club grounds ;)

I have a RINO (Republican In Name Only) permit. There's no limit, it never expires, and it only cost me $5.
