Don't get me wrong I'd trap for free, and have done so for the last 12 years. Except for this year, I didn't get one set made.

But, I can't help but think dispite everything, one can still make money trapping.

if anyone seems to beable to pull a buck or two out of their line I'd love to know how you do it.

thanks

The best money to made in trapping these days is Animal Damage Control work. I have two friends who both make a full-time living at it.
Besides that, it's tricky, very species specific. Mushrats pay well, beaver is almost nothing.......

I agree, ADC is good. You get paid to catch a coon (or whatever) and you get to keep it, lol.
Seriously, I don't understand why so many people that live in the country and moan about not making "enough" money don't make the effort to trap. It's not a way to get rich quick, it's a way to keep yourself busy doing something with SOME money in it, as opposed to watching TV.
If they're "put up" right, furs will last till you find a good buyer, OR you can tan them and you've got a "value added" situation.
The carcasses make good fertilizer too, buried deep. That is, after you remove the teeth and claws for sale too.

I had a coworker who found raccoons in her house and had to call animal control services. She was charged $700 for the removal service, which included some clean-up as well as nailing the animal entry points shut for her.

She said it was illegal for her to trap the animal and relocate it by herself. By law it had to be done by a licensed professional. I offered my services with a BB gun but she didn't take it. ::)

I'd imagine professional, licensed animal trappers prolly make good $$ in suburban areas that are next to rural areas or parklands...
