We deciced to try pigs for the first time we got 4 piglets back in May. when we went to castrate them 3 of them were herianated my wifes friend who was showing us how to do it said it may or may not work i didnt we had a mess of intestines and blood had to put him down so we only castrated one. By the way my wife and him are both er nurses. My ? can we still butcher the 2 uncastrated ones, do we do it early, anything specail to ask butcher

It's best to butcher un-castrated boars before 6 months to help avoid the possibility of "boar taint' in the meat.

As Martin said, butcher by six months. As for anything to ask the butcher- Will you please save the testicles? Those mountain oysters are some good eatin'! Taste the finest porkchop you could ever imagine. Enjoy!
