I've always had a lot of prep's, but this year seemed to make me more apprehensive, so I prepped a lot more than normal and I also prepped in case my married children need help.

I planted an extra large garden so that I would have all that extra to put up. This year I really got into dehydrating. I figure the shelf life is so much longer than any other way of putting food up.

I also laid in supplies of medicines, first aid supplies, tp, lanterns besides all that I already had.

mnmom - I've increased things too...Unfortunately, canning jars are extremely scarce around here, but am snatching them up as I find them. I didn't realize that being prepared was akin to being a Conspiracy Theorist, though. ???

It is good for one to be well-versed in basic homesteading skills. Not just in case of TSHTF. You never know when your skills in gardening, hunting, trapping, woodworking, etc. will come in handy under ordinary circumstances. Fortunately my father and grandfathers had good knowledge in these subjects, and even though I'm just a pencil-pusher compared to most of the folks in the forum, I feel I learned enough from them that I could hold my own in a SHTF situation.

LOL No, no no - most Conspiracy theorists talk about what everyone else SHOULD be doing, but, well, they themselves are still in the planning stages... ::) ;D Most can't quiiiite convince themselves to leave their comfortable barstool or tract home to actually DO anything yet. They will be content, when TSHTF, to be the ones dancing in the streets screaming "SEE? SEE???? I TOLD YOU SO!!!"
