Selling my chickens

I have my chickens in a pen on my truck and am taking them to someone in the morning. I am keeping a couple of bantam hens and a rooster but am not having a chicken house and yard. I live in a low area and the chicken yard is wet and smelly and I don't have a big enough place to get them far enough away from the house. I enjoy chickens and that is the reason for the bantams. I got rid of my rabbits also. It is just me and Roy and we spend money on feed when I could just buy a few eggs from some of my customers at the feed store. I will miss them but not the mess so close to the house.

Too bad it isn't working out. We love our flock however our environment is quite different. I've never had a bad smell from them. The coop can get a little ripe in the warmest weather however nothing that we didn't expect and it is far enough away so it doesn't bother us.

Perhaps you'll be in a better situation to get a decent size back. Good luck!

Thanks Tripper. I would like to think my situation will change but right now I don't see it happening. Still, we can't see the future. In the meantime I will enjoy my bantams.

Faye, sorry to hear you're having to get rid of the chickens! Husband Roy here complains all the time because they are chickens EVERYWHERE on this farm....and now there are ducks waddling all around too....I've just learned not to go barefoot much outside! :)

Hopefully your Roy's heart is still doing o.k.! We're still hanging in here waiting to see if Roy will get a defib or not!
