Last fall I got 50 Buff Orpington pullets and 5 rooster chicks from McMurray. I sold off most of the pullets except for a dozen and still had 4 of the 5 roosters. At the feed store was an ad on the wall for someone wanting a Buff rooster and 4 roosters are way too many! I called them and a woman and her young daughter who happen to live at the other end of the road I live on stopped by. Caught them a rooster and they asked how much. I told them to just take him.
Well, today I got a computer generated card in the mail with a picture of a huge Buff rooster, a little girl and a ribbon as big as the rooster! He won top prize at the county fair!
I remember seeing him there with that ribbon and noticing what a nice rooster that was. How fun that he came from Deberosa originally - through the destroyed hoop house in the horrible storm where I had to rescue him and all the others and everything!
