Made me a set of bolos: a golfball , wrapped and tied with a slip knot at one end of a cord, take three of these and tied the free ends together with a crown knot, braiding, and a crown knot. Hold by braided and and swing, let fly at prey, Can kill, so be careful.
Bolo: Spanish for BALL, Georgian [Kartvelur] for END. How appropriate!

That brings back memories. When I was about 8 I taped two wiffleballs together with about a yard of electric tape between them. I threw them at my brother who was teasing me and they wrapped around his neck, left a mark, I got a spanking. Glad I didn't make it out of something heavier.

you can do it with a few big lug nuts and some cordage each strand about 3 feet from nut to knot.
this will take down every thing from men to moose. and will knock birds from the air.
dont ask how i know this.

wow I haven't even thought about bolos in about 30 years. lol But it sounds like it might be a fun new(old) project.

I am not sure there was a boy in rural Florida in the 70s and 80s that never made a tennis ball bolo for "fun". We made them quite simple just one cord and two balls. Hold one ball and spin and toss the rig at a "target". We mostly threw at trees seeing who could wrap one up from the farthest away.
What I remember most is how quickly you get pretty good with them. They are pretty damn easy to learn and quite accurate even from a kid that never could have made pitcher or even first base.

I made a sling today out of some twine and an old piece of an old boot. Tried to hunt quail with it but I need more practice. Was fun though ;D
