I've been told it is the little things that cange life. Here is a couple of little things.
My friend and his wife went to a wedding the bride's dress hook had a problem, she pulledout a mico-leatherman and fixed the hook. One of the bride's maids developed a headache and she went out to car kit (From BWH) and got some meds.
A different friend and I were out at the lake over heard a father tying to explain to his young son they would have to go home because they did not have any fishhooks. He got the hooks from his woods kit and gave it them, both the faces beemed.
In both cases people paid attention to what was done and showed interest n making their own kits.
How about what you've done?

A few friends and I have a summer and a winter BOB campout. We've done it for years. The most dangerous situation, that I've made changes to counter (Goretex!), is just above freezing and a downpour of rain. You've got to be able to stay warm and dry.

My oldest son recently went on a church missions/camping trip and we were at Walmart (near where I had to drop him off) buying munchies for the trip and suddenly he remembered that he was supposed to bring a towel. I told him not to worry because I had one in my BOB backpack in the car.
We talked about a few things while in line and he noticed playing cards hanging near the register after we had checked out. He looked at me and mentioned something about them. I put my arm around him and told him that I had some in my "kit" in the car that he could use.
Keep in mind that he has seen me pull us out of minor situations with my BOB... spare diapers for my youngest daughter... a blanket for a really cold football game, a spare shirt for him, etc.
He said, "Wow" you really do have everything in there, don't you?" I said, "Not everything; but almost everything that we may need."

We'll be driving through Oregon, Washington and parts of Idaho to scout a place to retire. There's a large BOB in the car. The supplies in it can be divvied up into transportable backpack size for my wife and me. We'll be a long way from home and we want to be able to return should something unforseen happen.

We lost power and everyone screamed (big family in the house at the time) and no one had candles. That's what you get living the city life.
I grew up with hurricanes and gale winds and all that good stuff so I was taught to have good candles in my BOB. I came out with glass jars with a tea candle in them, lit. Whala!
Other family members were using their cellphones for light LOL, ah the modern age ::).
