This is a double post but thought it was so kool it deserved the added attention.

Just heard on FOX News of a mom is starting a program sending cases of silly string to our troops to be used as a tool against trip wires, in particular before entering a doorway/room because of its light weight you give it a squirt and see if it hangs.

I hadn't heard of this little trick but damn, what a great idea. Guess I'll have to pick up a can for the BOB.

Rick you better get 3 cans because you know your going to waste one on your wife and then she will have to get you back then you will have one left for your BOB :)

thats actually a good idea.

Imagine, all the military minds at work, & it takes a concerned Mom to think of this lifesaving technique ..

My 2 cents:
I also think this is a cool idea, but I guess in my list of 100 useful things I would want in my BOB bag(s), this would rate about a "99" or a "100".

Ranger- Arn't we lucky that we and our BOB's arn't out with the troops in the field that actually want and use this stuff.

Wax- Yes, some of us are indebted to others concerning this; it is not really luck however but by design.

A dear freind of mine was sitting in Germany on the morning of 9-11 acting as a private go between for the military complex and weapons manufacturers. He had been paid to retire because after serving nearly 16 years as a Ranger his skills were no longer needed in a peacetime environment.

By the night of 9-11 he was flying in a Soviet transport that didn't exist into areas we had not entered yet with weapons and funds that... well... you get the idea.
He is officially a Lieutenant Colonel but the Pentagon and perhaps a few offices in Langley are the only ones fully aware of his classification.

Someday I will need to give his tale: but of course only what I know of it.

Anyway, one day he mentioned to me that he could really use condoms and baby wipes.
The reader can only imagine that I was forced to ask why!

In the dusty environment of Afghanistan and Iraq condoms are handy in keeping sand and grit (powder really) out of a clean barrel and giving yourself a baby-wipe shower is really nice when there is not enough water around to take a real one.

It made perfect sense, so I got the info out.
Only to be told to please... please stop!
Our hearts were in the right place but thousands upon thousands of cases filled with "Trojans" and "Babyloves" can confuse a great many people!

Yep, after my 30 years active service in numerous dung heaps around the world and 6 years retired I still sing the praises of handy wipes. They will literally save you skin - especially in the groin, arm pit and neck areas. A little sand, a little sweat and a little friction can make ones quality of life a bloody hell.
