don't know, it's heavy, and after going far i'd be pissed. lol. it is a lot, but my bags have always been heavy, so i don't mind. i also keep very high quality packs, so the weight is carried properly on my hips.

Got a small Alice bag in the garage that goes at or about 35 lbs, large Alice in Sweetie's van that runs about 50 lbs and a large combat pack in the truck cargo box that tops 75 lbs. My desire is not to carry any of them more than absolutely manditory however, pressing someone else into service is always an option.

Think I'm going to look into getting either a small suitcase or a backpack on wheels to pack up and keep at home. I also need to start carrying a small one around with me so I've got what I need if I get stuck somewhere after the busses stop running at night or the like. Need to remember the Boy Scout motto "Be Prepared".

mine is about 85 pounds but a chunk of that is "conditional" or "inital food and water" i know i do not stay hydrated enough on a regular basis so part of my plan is to reduce the inital weight by putting it in my belly ;D
then I think i could fast for the next 24 hours-ish, making my food more of a 96 hour bag.
shelter is the bulk of the weight in my bag. just like if you were camping.
I also have the conditional 5 gallon buckets i have previoulsy mentioned. that can augment what i have if i drive or can bike or push/pull a cart, wagon.

If I put everything together that's in the trunk, mine would be about 80 lbs.
As mentioned in another thread, my stuff is layered. If I really have to bug out on foot, I wear a harness/belt with knife, canteen, shovel etc under a tactical vest with most of the good stuff (including an 8'x10' Siltarp) and I have many pockets in my coat. The backpack gets left behind.
Total weight of my "on-foot" carry is about 25lbs, and there's enough stuff to get by for quite awhile.

im still working on mine but in general any pack should not exceed 1/3 your body weight and not exceed about 30 -33 pounds. i got these numbers from my instructors in the CF. and from several hiker friends.
