anyone have some good info regarding the need for fuel additives in diesel engines to compensate for reduced lubricity in current fuel ?

I know it's way late to reply, but it's a good question and it deserves an answer.

Check out the PFFP line of additives and fluids for your diesel. Very good name with very good products.

PFFP Total Power includes a lubricity additive.

Good luck!

One quart of "2 stroke" oil per 50 gallons of fuel... It's tried and true, and works...

Here is a link to a good study that covers diesel fuel lubricity and what actually has been tested and proven to work best:

Here is what Bosch has to say about American diesel fuel and its substandard lubricity and associated problems:

I have used Walmart Tech 2000 marine 2 stroke fuel in my diesel for years mixed at 100:1.

Another thing you may want to consider is getting rid of the OEM fuel lift pump and installing an Air Dog or FASS fuel lift pump.

These lift pumps de-aerate the fuel which aids the lubrication of marginal fuel as well as improving efficiency not to mention extending the life of the injector pump and injectors.

These pumps are NOT cheap but then again either is replacing an injector pump or injectors.

I have the Air Dog 150 installed on my truck.

I'm using the Wally World stuff mentioned above in my Duramax. *I add it at a rate of 1 oz./Gal of diesel.

My engine actually runs quieter when I use it.
