on my Yamaha V-star 250. Had to put gas in it today and it only took about a gallon and a third. Hubby figured the mileage up for me and was amazed! The dealer had said it'd get 70 but people get more depending on how they drive them. I had been doing a lot of slow speed parking lot practice, so figured that'd drop the mileage down. I'll be curious to see how good it might get at straight highway driving.

Nice...bet that made you smile... :)
Been thinking REAL hard about getting myself another motorcycle...but I have been holding off a little since I have been out of work (business closed) for about a month...but I am still spending $40-$50 a week on gas...and I'm not even actively going out and applying...preferring to do most of my looking/applying online and/or over the phone.

It's pretty easy to pick up a good used motorcycle. People get them and either decide to go bigger or smaller. There was a 74 yr old man at the testing sight yest who had just bought a 650 but now he's decided to sell it for a 250. The 650 is too hard for him to maneuver and balance because of his health issues.
Good luck with your job hunt. Hope you are getting unemployment, to help you through.

Thanks.
I came real close to buying an older Honda Dual Sport...it was in nice shape...low miles and they wanted about a grand for it...which is actually the best price I had seen for a DS over 600cc in months of looking....
Yep, the little 250>400 cc bikes are very people
friendly as well as cheap to own/run. Maybe the
days of motorcycles is turning back to common
sense and utility. ;)
