I hate pulling up to a gas pump at all, but I REALLY hate pulling up to the wrong side and then have to turn around.
Someone just sent me this via email, and I cannot BELIEVE I never noticed it. Your gas gauge shows you which side of the vehicle the gas tank opens to!
Look at the small pump icon on the bottom of the gauge. If the nozzle shows on the left side, your tank is on the left. Right = right side.
::)
Who knew? !

Um, er, I did...
But... I can never remember to pull the little 'unlock gas cap' switch next to his seat on his car!
Here's how I fill his tank:
Get out, put card in pump
Swear
Open car door
Lean down pull switch
bump head on door
swear
go back to gas cap and unscrew
hit the "YES" button on the pump when it asks "do you need more time?"
Swear
choose fuel button
lift nozzle, insert in tank, shove gas cap under nozzle to hold it open
get window washer from stand
trip over fuel hose
swear
wash windshield
swear at dried bug guts, chipping them off with wet paper towel over fingernails
finish filing tank
put everyhing away, close gas tank
get back in car, start engine, prepare to drive away
try to toss wet paper towel from window into trash can
swear
get out pick it up and put it into trash can
finally drive away

Kurt will never live down the time I was with him when he stopped for gas.
He drove up to the wrong side. OK, gets in circles around backs in and guess what? He was still on the wrong side!!! That was good for a laugh for sure. ;-)
I liked living in Oregon where they have to pump it for you!

Who was the damn fool who decided to start putting the gas door on the right side of the car?
Most of the world drive on the right side of the road, it makes no sense to pull into a gas station, and suddenly have to pull to the left of the pump to put gas in your car.
Gas door should be on the same side of the car as the steering wheel.

Well, I finally ran low enough on gas to see mine! This doesn't hold true for my Dodge Ram 1500. The light says it's on the passenger side but it's really on the driver side...
