Can anyone tell me where to find a set of co-op grip spurs 15" for my husband's 48 willy's jeep? I know they quit making them some years ago, but surely someone out there stocked up on them. Or would the old style buckshots work ok? It needs the tall slim hard tire I think ? I don't know what was original to the CJ does anyone here know? I don't want to ask him I want to get them as a surprise if I can. Thanks ;)

It looks as though they are still available at Co-ops. An alternative that might be easier to find would be Buckshot Mudder's by Maxxis which are almost identical. I did find a shop in Kansas that appears to have them the grip spurs. Click the following and look down a few ads for the tire shop.

For comparison, here is info on the Buckshots:

Thanks so much Tripper, I've checked everywhere here in MS and the co-ops quit selling them years ago. If they do have any left they were all 16" and I'm not sure if they would fit. Your new truck is awesome! I found my husband's willy's jeep about three years ago, its original and he even had an extra kaiser motor in the barn. So we got that too. I showed him the pictures of your "jewel" he really liked them, the last one with the kids that's what we do too. Load the kids and the dogs and ride down to the lake behind our house! Those little things sure will go!! Ours didn't have a top so he is trying to make one for the winter. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question :)

No problem. I hope you find what you're looking for.

I don't have a top for ours either. I plan on making something before winter as well so I can use it to plow and remain in some comfort. We have really enjoyed it however I currently have the tub removed to do some body work and preventative maintenance on the frame and axles.

I looked a little for tires but haven't set my mind to anything. Hancook has a Dynapro MT that may fit the bill. I'd like to get the original style tires which were also standard issue on the 1st military jeeps. I'm not sure the name however I believe they were a bias ply which doesn't really turn me on. I'm thinking someone has or will come up with a modern replacement and I'll pick them up. If not, there are some great conventional tires that provide a combination of traction and decent treadware.
