Broadcast spreader for sand

I am thinking of getting a broadcast spreader to pull behind my UTV. In addition to using it for fertilizer in the warm months I would like to use it to broad cast sand on my driveway in the winter. Do any of you use a broadcast spreader in this manner.

We have a small bit in the past just remember sand is a lot heavier by volume than what they are designed for. Make sure you keep your sand DRY
