Hi there. I've been trying to find help in diagnosing a problem with my car before I try and get it fixed. On my 97 Monte Carlo I have a great deal of moisture coming out of the AC/Heater vents. It's so bad if I don't have the AC on high you can actually see the vapor coming out and it fogs up the windows. Would any of you folks that know a thing or to about autos be able to give me an idea of what the problem could be?

If you don't have a sweet smell then you most likely have a plugged drain for the ac. When running your ac you should have water dripping out from under the car on the right hand side just below the firewall.
If there is a sweet smell when you run the fan then you have a leaking heater core.

Right on the money. If its a plugged line try running a hanger a little ways into it.

Hi,
Its usually just hanging out some where near the front of the passenger side floor board. Most of the drains I have seen are black rubber.
Good Luck
Larry
Could it not also possible be a leaking heater core???

Yes it could very well be a leaking heater core. Usually though when the heater core is leaking there is a real prevelant sweet smell from the anti freeze as your sitting in the car with the fan on. Also if its bad enough you will notice a drop in your coolant level in the radiator. Though if you been adding a little water over a long period of time you could of deluted the anti freeze to the point where you can't smell it.
