Tightwad who did you work for?

Tightwad what company did you work for? I've been reading your posts on here. I started using synt. oil and it did raise my fuel mileage a little. From about 23.5 to 25mpg. Chevy astro van 4.3 v6.

I think for the most part if you have a car or truck that is paid for, gets over 20mpg just keep it.
astro van 100,000 miles divided by 25mpg = 4000 gallons x's 2.50 gallon fuel = 10,000.00 dollars.
New VW 100,000 miles divided by 50mpg = 2000
gallons x's 2.50 gallon fuel = 5000.00
I'm think your right that buying a car just for mpg might not be your best bet. You have to PAY for the new one!

As to who I worked for.......
The company I worked for (40+ yrs) is a large worldwide company
that makes everything from heavy engines to boots. I retired as
the lead quality engineer for one of the commercial product lines
sold worldwide. My main focus was in the heavy engine field with
sales to OEM & commercial accounts worldwide.
