Here are some picks from today. The fence is 4 ft high to get a reference to her size. Now - they decided to stand in the muddiest part of their pasture - they have nice dry spots to relax in too!

Well Deb any more info on Daisy? Is Tbone gonna have a baby brother or sister? You can't just leave us hanging. When will we know for sure?

Still waiting! I still think she is pregnant - she is eating more now too. Hasn't gone into heat at all but T-Bone started to go into heat...
I thought this weekend as I put her in a temporary fence to eat some fresh grass that she was moving somewhat slower.
Or then it still could be my imagination! Let's see, I bought her in October so if no calf by late summer then it was all my imagination. ;-)

oh, I thought T bone was a boy.
Daisy looks pregnant to me. She is about as big as our Brownie.

Yes and that picture is a month old! She seemed much larger today. I sure hope she doesn't have her calf while I have to be back East in Two weeks!

If T-bone is coming into heat maybe she is not barren like you were led to believe. You might want to take a chance at breading her. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

You can push on a cows stomach and feel around for the calf and see if she is pregnant. We do this all the time on the dairy farm. You can also use this method to tell if she is about to give birth since the calf drops into position.
Nothing like getting a little bit of warning before you come in for morning milking and see a new born calf in the gutter...or worse, having to do a midnight c-section in the gutter. (Those never turnout good unfortunately).

I am going to try that tomorrow. I've got to move Daisy tomorrow anyhow. I caught her daughter nursing today! Not good. There will be much mooing and fussing but it's got to happen. We've got the electric all up to keep them in line and Daisy can go back to the barn area till the calf is born.
Never a dull moment with these animals for sure!

Well, the woman who sold me Daisy came to visit tonight to pick up 6 dark cornish chicks since I am being overrun!
At any rate she has seen many pregnant Dexters. Daisy's former pasture mate just had her calf two days ago. She definitely thinks Daisy is pregnant but not due for a while yet - a month or two. Her udder is getting larger but that is all except for the big round belly.
So still waiting!
