....What to take to the rifle and pistol range this 4th of July? To celebrate what this holiday TRULY means?

There will be the ubiquitous amounts of 1911 .45 Auto's, maybe even a few Glocks of various calibers thrown in to the mix. But what about rifles? Hmmmmmm........

I've had a couple of boxes of .270-caliber 90-grain Sierra hollow points I loaded up about three years ago, and have never shot to see how they group. Gotta take those. Also, definitely need a .30-'06 in there somewhere.

Our friends from a neighboring town are coming over for a pool party/cookout, and going to the fantastic fireworks display that evening. Last year, I gave him an NEF single-shot twelve gauge, and an SKS that was recovered by the police from a burglary of my house 9 years ago. He accessorized the SKS (rynite stock, better high-capacity magazine), and has been really jumping at any chance to shoot. His wife never fired a weapon until they started going to the range with us, and she did pretty good with a Ruger Mark II and 10/22 Rifle. Might be just the time to introduce her to an M-4.

May you all enjoy the freedom of the 4th of July in safety with your family and friends, and when you smell the burning gunpowder, remember how many smelled it in anger, so we can smell it in peace and safety. God Bless and Keep Them All.
