Would grass be enough food for rabbits, during the summer? I could just mow a portion of the yard every day, bag it and give it the rabbits. Or is this not enough?

I got to visit a real rabbit breeder on Monday. She had a bit of a disaster with her rabbits. She went with 16 percent protein pellets with a doe with babies and she ate the ears off her babies! So I do know doe's with young need protein in their diet. I imagine grass alone would not provide that. That is unless you don't care if your rabbits have ears. ;-)

I raised rabbits for years when I was a kid. Only had one kill her young, but she was new and I had just moved her from the original owner, figured it was the stress of the move.
I always fed my rabbits grain I found on the railroad tracks at the grainery and thrown out veggies from the grocery store. Never had any troubles with that, but I hear grain has doubled in price here lately.
My neighbors wife is doing a garden and mentioned using the islands in our cult sacs to do more gardens, and then she said since my back yard was bigger, I should get some chickens and she'd help take care of them. My dog goes nuts with the squirrels and raccoons, imagine what he would do with birds out there. No thanks....though I thought it odd, I was thinking it would be nice to have some hens and a rooster, just last friday. I heard a rooster up in Stanwood Thurs night and it reminded me of when I was a kid on the farm. Kind of a good/lost feeling.
