Help-the breeder that our 4-H'ers regularly get their pigs from got new sows and bred late, so she only has 6 piglets, if they all live! We have about 5-6 more 4-Hers needing weaner pigs for projects. Do you know of any one in southern or central oregon who raises pigs and has some available? They are in short supply around here!

Do you have any Hutterite colonies in the area?
we do here in n. montana and a lot of them raise pigs and might sell a kid a pig.

I did a google search and found a Hutterite colony in Oregon, but it doesn't say where.

I may have to drive 4 hours one way to get a few pigs, at $150 each! Ouch!

Wow! that is so high for weaner pigs!
Did you ever consider producing them yourself? Then you could make all that moolah! ;D

A few other places and people to check with. Call your county extension agent, the local livestock sale barn and the local feed stores and ask who raises hogs.

The people I get mine from just had another litter a while ago. I work with one of them and can ask. They live
east of Bend.

I paid 75 apiece last year, not sure what it will be this year....

Sorry just now seeing this. Go to www.capitalpress.com and go into their classifieds. You can find several people in Oregon looking to sell weiner pigs.
